Anno 1800 will be absolutely fantastic. The beta-footage of late has really inspired me.
I'm sure it will enliven some parts of the Banished community as well.

I'm a backer of Ancient Cities, which will be very unique and detailed.
The dev's are kind of stuck in a coding block to link the overhead world with the city maps and haven't been very communicative, even when postponing the beta and release to an unannounced time.
I still have faith in them to deliver something amazing though.:)

According to Steam, Anno 1800 is scheduled for release April 16.

Yes, Anno is fine and currently in closed beta and looking like a solid job.

I was talking about Ancient cities which is being delayed.;)

I have been watching some Anno 1800 on YouTube and it does look interesting.

I got Foundation on Feb 1 in Early Access on Steam. The game is really fun and should appeal to Banished lovers--open ended, keep everybody fed and happy, etc. There is no combat, but you can build a keep and recruit soldiers. Every so often a neighboring city asks you to send five and when they come back you get a reward. All population growth is through immigration. (WARNING: Satire ahead. Stop reading now if you are easily offended. You have been warned!) You can build walls, but the immigrants keep coming anyway. It appears that modding will be possible.

I am also looking forward to Soviet Republic in which you build up a "workers' paradise" from scratch.

Foundation does look really good, although it misses some of the simulation aspects I enjoy in a city builder. The freedom it offers in building is wonderful though.
Gehe, I think Banished is a nice example of what happens if you don't let in the immigrants: messed up intermingled family trees.;)

The Soviet era doesn't get enough exposure in games, Soviet Republic looks pretty interesting. I love building cities with Brute imperialistic Soviet architecture in Cities Skylines.

I can also recommend The Universim for a more light hearten approach. It's got a lovely style and it's great to see your civilization grow organically. It's still got while to go but it's on the right path.

RE: Artfactial
I've seen videos on Ancient Cities. I'm truly looking forward to that game. As a backer, I suppose you will get a chance to try out early (unfinished) versions of the game. Please tell us when you get to try it out.

Another game I'm excited about is Dawn of Men. It looks fantastic! It's coming to Steam on March, 1st.

I've been looking for city-builder games which are set in the Stone Age. I do not like fighting or warfare so I am curious to learn if you can deselect having raids.

One of the reasons I love Banished is the fact that there are no enemies. So I'm very interested in learning about games where you can deselect fighting/raids/war.

Anno 1800 looks very interesting. I have played Anno 1701, i liked that a lot, but not touched series since then.

I have never care about war parts either. For me its for city building, and how detailedly you can watch computer people do their jobs.
I loved so much settlers and settlers 2. You could watch smith hammering, when farmers using scythe. Even there was that war part on settlers, war was one on one like truly gentleman  :D I even liked that war part when i was little. When i get older don't care that war part any more, i just want build my romantic city utopia with no violence.
Then i get The Settlers: Rise of an Empire, but it had lost the charm of early settlers. I like so much banished, its like those early settlers, but bigger fields much more buildings and professions, i get the same feeling like child.
Settlers lost it, but thank god we have banished.

RE:1

Oh, I used to LOVE Settlers. I don't remember if I had Settlers 1, 2 or 3. But I do remember you could play without any other team on the map (=no fighting). I loved to plan out the whole map. After my computer crashed and I got a new one I no longer were able to play the game.

I saw on Steam that they have a Settlers game for sale. But as I researched, and saw YouTube videos of peoples gameplay... I was soo disappointed. The game is nothing like the one I used to play.

Oh... can you tell me how you made @Tonje a clickable link? And tell me what it is for?
Also, how do you make a quote?
I tried it yesterday but nothing happened. That's why I write RE: instead.

EDIT: It seems that the link got made by itself. I just wrote @Tonje and it got automatic change. Strange. Lets try... @1 ............. hmm.......

if you want to manually quote something, you need to put [ quote] at begining, and at the end of the citation, you put a [ /quote]

[ quote]You reply to message then scroll back and click Insert Quote.
Only works from inside new message.[ /quote]

a [ /quote] and [ quote] dont need a space inside. write it without a space.

I just click on the quote link in the top right corner of each post and it automatically inserts the quoted post. See the screenshots below.

I read others that have tried that and it doesn't work and I don't understand why it doesn't work for them. It works fine for me.  :o

Those quotes, kid1293, RedKetchup and Hawk all ready answer to your question. When press reply, you will find that quote button also on menu option that appears above.

I quess the reason for that function is, that when you login in, you get the message on your profile, @Tonje some have "mention" you, so that you see somebody wrote to you in topics. Thats why i use it.

yes,if you click the quote button without the reply window open,it does nothing.
clicking your name link brings up another window with information. it can be a handy tool for searches. it can tell when you were online last.sometimes players come and go without typing.

The links work. I got a notice.

As did I.  :D

When I click on the Quote button, I don't click on Reply. Just the Quote button. That automatically opens a reply window with the post I clicked the Quote button from already quoted in the reply window, like I did with quoting kid's post here.
Doing it like that will include the quote author, date and time.

How did you go it @Tonje in your reply #18?
Title: Re: Upcoming City Building Games for 2019

@Hawk
I did as @kid1293 said; I clicked Reply-button, scrolled up to his post, clicked the Quote-button (on HIS post). The text then appeared in the Reply window.
The way @RedKetchup explained using a neutral quote (no names) I already knew. Very neat.

If I remember correctly, on vBulletin forums you could use
Code: [Select]
[ quote=name] [ /quote]. Example: [ quote=Hawk]
to quote a specific person. Like:
Quote from: Hawk
How did you go it @Tonje (http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=profile;u=12743) in your reply #18?
Here I manually copied a part of your text and pasted it inside the quote.

You can also quote a person outside WOB. Like:
Quote from: Elvis Presley who's not a member as far as I know
Rock and roll music, if you like it, if you feel it, you can't help but move to it.
Note: The reason why I can't do it like you... is because I believe I have pop-ups disabled in my browser.

Note: The reason why I can't do it like you... is because I believe I have pop-ups disabled in my browser.

So do I.
I block popups as well as most scripts. I use uBlock Origin and NoScript as well as blocking popups in the base browser settings (I use PaleMoon).

Weird that the way I do it doesn't seem to work for anyone else.  :o

The links work. I got a notice.

I also tried the way you do it (above) and that works for me too.
I didn't know about doing it that way.
