This is my first blog and it will be mostly just screens and a little text. I'm not a number cruncher so no long posts about production numbers and efficiency or elaborate stories about my baniminions' lives.

Map starting parameters. I'm running 1.0.7.Beta. Terrain type is from Plains mod by Jose Rios. It can be found in the download section.

Starter village and minimap. Even though I started on easy setting I only got one crop seed. I start with potato, peach, walnut and chickens.

Salem's Lot. Year 6. A quick expansion. Removed parts of the pre-planned canal. Will place fishermen and storage docks there. Plus bridges and a trading post.
I really like this Natural Diversity mod. New trees are very pleasant to the eye.

/shrug it is not released yet lol

very nice, good planned. I'm a bit surprised, that you can afford so much stone roads at the beginning. I use to be short of stones.

More stone per rock mod plus manual gather orders.

I'm never stingy with roads in any of my towns. As goods are moved faster in the beginning it pays out in the long run.

@Gatherer nice to see your town and how you are placing the canal.  :)  So many mods enabled at once without major conflict?  Question, I don't see CC on the list, what is making the crop field look different?

I'm not using CC. Never have. Perhaps the crop field looks different because of Season FX mod. Or did you mean something else?

About conflicts...no crashes yet. I hope it stays that way. Certain chains not working? Don't know. But I'm not going to build all of them anyway.

Right now I wish I had waited a bit with this map. That way I could incorporate Mr. Red's revamped canals from the start. I sure hope they will be compatible with a savegame. :-\

@Gatherer oh, season fix, I don't have that mod.  I didn't think you used cc, I hope we continue to get separate mods from it.

I did not update my game yet but have quite a few of the updated mods. The trouble makers for me are town halls and I'm guessing seaports and any that have an item with new flag.  So I am limited to what new mods I can use.  I had my test map freezing up. 

You just recently updated, did you take your windata file out of the game before updating?  Did your load order change?  What a nightmare if I would have to reorder all those mods.  Why is there not a smiley face expressing horror?

oh that would be a very good test !
what if i disable the watermill... ( with a // and compile a test version) and you place it before NMT2.04... maybe you can tell me if it is 100% compatible and crash free :)

I copied 1.0.6. to another drive and then updated the original one. After that I emptied the original (now 1.0.7.Beta) WinData file and filled it with all the mods I wanted for this map. Load order did change a bit and it changed again on its own once or twice since. I have added a couple of mods after the start of this map but some mods have switched places without me touching them.

That could be fun. Right now I'm behind on screenshot posting. Ingame year is already at 33 so the canal is already built. But for a test I can rebuild it.

Great little villages there @Gatherer congrats on a lovely build :)

Regarding the mods changing places - is that before/after installing mid game?
What I've found that if I add a new mod in part way through a map, I need to set it up where I want in the mods menu, then exit the game, then load again, make sure it's enabled correctly, then load the map, then load the mod in the map.
Save the map, quit the map, EXIT the game, then reload.  It's a lot of faffing about and takes a little bit of time, but following that method I've not had a mod issue (unless there was a direct conflict, but not due to saves etc).

I also found that a new loadup on a new device with Steam - uck.  It's a pain in the rear and needs to be handled 'just so'.

But, certainly as a 'force of habit', always new mods - load to game, enable & arrange, then exit completely, then load in the existing map, then repeat, then save & exit - and you shouldn't have a problem.

And my mod list does compete with yours a little ;)

so i ve just tested it ^^

i built a starting city, i ve put a canal down ( a gate, 2-3 straight, a TP, a straight, a fishing, a straight, a dock, a straight, a corner , then couple of straight....)

i saved.

then gone in mod list and added the 3.0 on top of 2.0 : crash !!!

then i reloaded save, deleted all the canals. saved. gone to mod list and added 3.0 on top of 2.0 : no crash !

so you will have to delete canal first. when i ll do the final version, there will be nothing bad after, i am just adding a watermill.


1. but i noticed something, you will need to get to it : pause, lay down your canal, check the blue arrows... and when sure, unpause.
2. you will also need to get used to go in the community icon because in old RK icon, you wont get all the pieces. they will be replaced by new one but you wont have all the icons. (many has been doubled with a stream going right, and a stream going *left.)

you ll need to get used to it. Now there is a flow and in game we rotate often "r" "t". since stream is under ground level, you dont see it till it is done (why to pause and use ground arrows)
And remember, pick up the community icon, always, to get all the icons.

Castle Rock. Revamped New Medieval Canal in all its glory. 8)

A bit hard to put the pieces together for the first time but once completed it immensely improves the visual aspect of the

game.

What's not to like? It's amazing how the canal looks alive now.

Imagine a piece with no stone border...We could fill the whole map with those and create one giant lake surrounded with mountains. With a few new custom pieces with borders just on one and two sides and you get an artifical island....Mind runs wild.

Bachman. Bugged trading posts have been removed and will be replaced with those from Maritimes Set. Cows have arrived and

plans have been made to expand further east to build a new village, Derry.

You mean the Jetty Port from @Discrepancy, do you? It doesn't work on your lake either? I thought it might have been something in the North version, in combination with the North mod.

I've followed the discussion about those ports not working and hoped they would somehow work here. No cookie. Too bad because they have a big capacity. Now I had to build two Maritimes docks to only get half of that.

With all these new jetty pieces it is becoming clearer and cleare how the vanilla game is utterly limited. If we could designate where individual baniminions live, study and work we could create jetty islands cut off from the mainland.

Year 56

Castle Rock. Market area has been redeveloped and the last crop field removed. Added some houses and a jetty walkway with

some boats. Wish there were some diagonal jetty pieces in Maritimes Dock Set. That empty patch of grass will be filled with trees in the future.

Salem's Lot. Slow growth because of housing demands elsewhere. Still lacking it's own market.
