I have decided to expand upon this building design, and am working on a set of buildings to release, it will be called DS Small Village (DSSV)
a busy market

After what feels like ages fixing bugs and what not, i have finally got some of the finished models into the game without a crash:
This is what I've completed:
3x3 tile houses (2 versions via F-key + upgrade)
3x4 tile houses (3 versions via F-key)
2x4 tile houses (4 versions via F-key)
8x8 tile Food/Edibles Market
Jetty/Dock/Bridge modular pieces:
1x1 (x4 F-key)
2x1 (x2 F-key)
3x1 (arch bridge)
4x1 (draw-bridge, x2 F-key)
a few more things to do and it will be ready for some beta testers...? any takers?
Me, me, me! ;D
I wish I wasn't at work but I can certainly test it later after I get home.
nice :) new homes :)
Looks very promising!
This drawbridge is my favorite. Can I get it separately?.^^ ;)

Do you mean in a separate mod to the houses? Yeah.. eventually :)
but for now:

Love the design and they are small!
All good for now. They work as intended but
please remove the market floor. I like the way it is
laid-out and I want to build my own road (or yours, hehe...)
YAY! More small goodies.
These look very good. Any plans to make corner houses? It's always good to be able to make a row of houses that isn't just a straight line.
A covered bridge would look good too.
kid1293, yes I think you are right about the floor. It is also causing too many issues and did not turn out as good in game, as it looks in blender.
elemental, for now I will just put your suggestion on hold, I didn't plan on doing corner houses for the townhouses, but in the future I might.
I think a covered bridge is a great idea...
I am concentrating on finishing the Goods Market, Blacksmith and Jetty Fishing spot that I have started the models of.
These houses look great! Love the footprint variations too. Thank you!
Very nice work.
I like the draw bridge. Reminds me of my home country, the Netherlands.
Working great and everything looks wonderful! I agree with kid's assessment about the road base for the market. Other than that very minor thing, the mod is perfect.
I agree - they work very well - upgrade and all.
Haven't tested bridges. Soon.
One other thing and it is not really negative. ???
If you build them as rowhouses you'll never see
that they are beautiful from all sides. :)
exactly, that is why I'm not really going to advertise them as such ;)
the other house I want to make for this are a couple of small cottages, with gardens around, they can't be squashed in.
I have finished the Blacksmith, as well as more jetty additions. a 4x1 tile version of the arch bridge, this bridge can be upgraded to a single fishing spot as shown in this picture:
I have also removed the floor from the market.
Way to go!
The fishingspot - is it equal to vanilla?
hmmmm.... i feel a new dock set is coming :)
Thumbs UP !!! :)
The fishing dock is the same as vanilla, it just has a smaller radius, but I still seem to be getting too much fish with just 1 fisherman...
I'm sorry, I have no idea if this is save-game compatible, but I wouldn't think so as many things have been altered... (it's been a long day)
(even the pic above is outdated as I have now also adjusted the thatch roof texture)

in fact it is quite the opposite :)
or more exactly not relative even if sometimes if you reduce the radius and the fishing go up. this is due of the % of number of tiles "tagged" as water or deepwater.
cause that , often of you make the radius bigger, you will get more tiles as "ground" behind the dock, so the % of water tiles will drop
if your dock leaves the ground and make X tiles go away from the ground, into the water, you can expect your % of water tiles will go up because behind the dock, since it is further, you'll get less "ground tiles"
if that make sense.
I hope I'm not too bothersome. 8)
The TownHouse description says it's upgradeable, it's not.
Perfect thatching! It's personal and gives a warm feeling.
Nice variations!
Other than that I'm still far from the river... bridge testing later.
All work fine!
But I have to change my opinion about the roof thatching.
It is the right color but I don't really think the texture fits.
Don't be upset... It feels a bit 'plastic' / non-natural.
The first texture was better (but a bit pale)
Could be that I am used to other fuzzy textures.
Edit: Look at the example apiary roof texture.
Since I am testing these buildings I can show that they are
balanced and work well, both built side by side, and separately.
Birds eye of center.

Nice work, hope to see more!
thanks for the nice pictures, words and testing :)
... i have noticed an issue in your pictures that I haven't picked up on - for some reason the chicken is hanging from the grain stall, yet should be under the protein stall...
Another very nice looking mod! ThereĀ“s a lot of talented people hanging around on this page! Good work!
Thanks, I hope to have the completed version 1 of this mod up sometime soon.
I've hit a few problems, but nothing unfixable. Apart from that, a couple more buildings and it should be complete :)
