Round Cobbles Stone road?not

All the stone roads I've seen are little square bricks, diagonal or not. I'd like to see some round cobblestone roads if possible.
REMEMBER: In games like Oblivion, Skyrim, Banished, etc, there IS NO WRONG WAY TO PLAY!!

Yes but they are so LITTLE, they barely register as round cobbles. I guess I'd like to see some larger cobbles in the stone roads.

Round cobbles (large) is very hard to use together with another road piece.
Of course you can make it very symmetrical but that is no improvement
over a road with square stones.

The edge of a road fades out very nicely to blend with ground.
If you put another road side by side you will not get that fading effect.
Larger round cobble stones will be cut right off and show an ugly sharp edge.

The only solution is to make every stone sit inside the boundary of the tile.
Which means very symmetrical.

I have a small picture to show what I mean.
The edge towards the ground is nice but the edge along the other road is sharp.

Hmmm....how about more uniform size cobbles, a little larger than the tiny but not so big that they make the ugly edge? Just a bit more noticeable as cobbles.

You can see in your picture that many stones are cut along the edge.
If you put another picture along any side you will see many stone halves.

And the problem is larger. You have to divide that picture with 16 to get
down to tile-level.

If you should place stones one by one inside the edge and multiply
the picture by 16 (horizontally/vertically) and then change that huge picture
to a somewhat proper size - you will have a road that is repeating itself.
Doing 256 different tiles of cobbles is an insane task.

I see. What would the pixel by pixel size be for a usable tile?

the size doesnt matter too much, you can still resize and then after you need to copy it (tileable) to make a 1024x1024 png
i dont remember exactly but i think each 32x32 (or 64x64) are 1 tile.
