Title: Request - Remove the wind sound
Post by: Pangaea on September 15, 2014, 09:05:31 AM
I'd love it if some experienced modder was able to remove the wind sound you get when zooming out. It does my head in. But I'm not sure how to do it myself. After downloading the modkit I noticed the probably relevant file in \resource\Audio\Effects\WindEffect.rsc

Somewhat similar, I see there is a mod for the chicken sounds and such. Is it possible to change this further? I see it was reduced from 2% to 1% (0.02 to 0.01), but could it be reduced further by increasing the decimal numbers? Say from 0.01 to 0.001?

Since picking up the game again I haven't played enough to build these things and get annoyed by those pesky animals again, but I can't imagine -50% would be enough when you have loads of the buggars. It would be nice to hear them once in a while, but not that constant chatter. When I last played (months back) I had to kill off all chickens as they were by far the most annoying animal.

Nobody seemed to get on top of this, so if you didn't notice, I have put out a mod myself that fixes this. Here it is (http://banishedinfo.com/mods/view/627-NoWind) :)

I've tested it myself by adding it to games where it wasn't included to begin with, and it works like a charm. Let me know if there is an issue of course, but it appears to work well from what I have seen.

Nice! That's one that I'll use.
