Chapter 10


  Well, weary traveler, it's early spring of year 10 and it won't be long now before we are ready to leave.  The storage wagon is almost filled with firewood, iron tools, and water to take to the Mountain Mission Markets.  As soon as the rain stops we'll be heading out.

  Guess what, weary traveler, the town elder just brought us something more to take along with us, some seedlings.  One of the last evacuees brought them from the southwest and thought we could take them back there.  With a bit more rain they would probably grow and provide some much needed trees to the desert areas.   Most of the town has turned out to see us off, the oxen are hitched up to the wagons and we're ready to roll.  It's summer now and hopefully we will reach our destination before the end of the year.
