BRAD'S SETTLING OF AMERICA SERIES 3: Dendrum

YEAR 40

          the laborers are sent to gather iron ore.a blacksmith switches to stone tools and the other small RH smith makes wood tools.the main RK smith makes iron tools from 4 iron ore. the builders  dig another random mine. still as fast as tools are made, workers break others. a 2nd R backsmtih will make stee tools for the mine and quarry workers. once the tools are caught up,the trader village smith will switch from wood tools to rough iorn ore tools. the CC smelter will process more iron.


         to help with the food production,the farmers gathered food outside the zoo in the fall and winter.we traded for more iron and iron ore.our labor force is down to 8 laborers and 5 builders.


          the builders were able to fix the dead spaces. this does not always work.here they fattened the ground and were abe to use the space for the city roads.

YEAR 41

          slowly,we overcame the tool shortage.the laborers continued clearing land.a tavern was completed and a deer safari.
more of the zoo roads were supplied with stone.

           the 3 longhorns finally had 1 calf.  we manage to have 40+ tools stored by the end.

YEAR 42

         a group of 35 nomads arrived ,but they visited the zoo and moved on.we need to build more supplies and houses for our own citizens.

         we added a CC coffeehouse to the south village as well as 2 more RK houses. this coffee will sober up people at the taverns since it is flagged luxury.the west wall was extended and another tower built.while we wait for lumber to complete more construction,we clear more trees around the south village.

YEAR 43

          a pancake house was built in the resort area.2 CC mansions were built also. they will serve as a bed and breakfast guest houses for writers or artists. the zoo entrance has 2 squirrel statues.

         hoping to sell some animal rugs to schools or other research places,a CC tannery and a EB well were constructed in the south village. yes i am crossing a 1.06 mod with the 1.07 flags. with the CC comatability patch, it does work well.

          the chicken and pig pastures were both doubled.this will supply more eggs and bacon.the 2nd fodder hut has been moved.

YEAR 44

           to improve the movement of goods, several CC distribution barns are built. they may not work perfectly with the new flags but they should help move some stock for the farmers and trade posts.

          we have more meat and grain but less fruit and veggys.2 strawberry fields are planted and 3 wheat fields are switched to veggy crops. this will make sure everyone stays healthy.our doctors have been busy with an influenza outbreak this fall.

          workers have been busy extending the north zoo road and fencing a wolf pen.

YEAR 45

            we were back to 20+ laborers and 10 buiders when nomads arrived. there were 35 of them. since we are still behind on houses, we let them pass by.we wil try to finish this map  without any more nomads.

          to build stone statues, we need a CC carver.we finally started to clear the northeast cornerof the zoo.3 pens are being fenced and cleared. the city road for the zoo is almost finished.

YEAR 46

            i took 2 trade deer in to see if they would leave the CC farm trade post. they did, so the CC trade livestock mod will work with some trading posts.

             camels and rhinocerous are moved into their pens. the city road is finished and work has started on the north wall.
2 horse and 2 lion statues were added to the front entrance.the builders have started building benches and other decorations.

         a 2nd floor was added to the tavern and several more RK colorful little houses were buit in the south village.

YEAR 47

           plains wolves and snow wolves were captured and moved to their pens.we extended the deer pen for the trade deer. we got half the north wall finished.

           the laborers cleared trees and supplied stone for the northwest wall. more trees and bushes were planted.more benches have been built.finally we are nearing the end.

         The EB quarry has produced enough stones.it is turned into a resort swimming pool. a barbershop was planned, but we have the wrong silver bar for it to be built. there were breeding pens planned for the zoo that needed domestic animals.merchants never brought them when we had stock at the trading posts.

         a flower garden with a pond was setup by the fodder workers.it has some EB food carts and a few swings.more benches have been scattered around.
          with the outside wall nearing completion,more pens were fenced. 2 types of antelope share 1 area.tigers,leaopards, and rams have their own spaces.

           i wanted to take a overview pic in the winter but it snowed to hard for that.even in spring it is quite hazey.

YEAR 50   END REVIEW

           i figured the zoo woud take 200 workers.100 in the zoo and a support staff to produce food and trade for the animals. there are 211  workers, but that does include the layedoff EB quarry workers. we do have more shops than originally planned. there are a few ideas that never happened due to not havig materials.

          all the animals from the CC decorations have been used.several of RED's horses are in the horse pen along with donkeys and ponies.all of RED's livestock animals are set in pastures. we still have no turkeys.JINX has them in a holiday mod for decorations.due to the computer limits i didn't add those.none of NECORA's animal pens were added either.

          you can stay at the bed and breakfast hostel,the zoo tower,guest house,or the CC mansions. the markets are well staffed. there are animal figures and furniture,pottery and dishes,linen and cloth,and candles. you can even order statues for your town.the taverns are stocked with cider,ale,and coffee. if you get hungary, there is a variety of food.from breakfast to a grill and soups. don't forget to stop by the theater.all the shows are put on by the zoo's research center.

          education is up to 65%. there are 81 houses plus the rentals. we continue to make a variety of tools and clothing.
          the trade horses being stuck at the TP was the only issue that cna be solved by using different trading posts.
