Hobbit World ;D
hahhaah I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!
Nice! :D Just nice. :D
oh yes great work, also like old west sod house, WHEN,WHEN
;D ;D :D
cute
@RedKetchup is the god of mod.
*bows before RedKetchup's awesomeness*
These are so cute!
You rock!
the idea behind that : really too many people only play 'valley' or even modified setup like 'plain' , 'extra plain', 'extra flat map' settings :'(
i want to make something to push people back to play 'mountains' map. or even an 'extra mountain' setting if possible to do ??
I don't see why it wouldn't be.

Oh, you are speaking from the bottom of my heart! ;D
Playing flat maps without any terrain features just bores me... no offense meant to all those who prefer flat maps.
And Hobbit Houses - how cool is that! and looking so cute :)
Would you consider making the grass on the roofs a bit rougher and darker? Just so they don't completely "disappear" in the landscape when zooming out... :)

there will be maybe some different colors, cause many starting conditions provided with CC change completly the color of the ground :)
Wonderful job. Thank you. :P
B. Baggins approves, but would like a larger garden.

hmmmmm
What B.Baggins says about that ?
We need only tavern like that houses, and we might have our little hobbiton! :D
You caught him while he was out, having a quiet smoke and enjoying the landscape.
If you would be so good as to not tell the Sackville-Bagginses his wereabouts he would be in your debt.
i did some tests today ....
some elements looks good and some other looks... gah :-[

I like all the plants, looks good... you probably need to think how to get some variety, specially to the vines?
I'm not sold on the painted green door, and the chair is a bit Ork-sized ;)
But all together the scene has already much improved with all the additions :)
I love the door colored. Let us choose different colors!!
hi there,.. if i may suggest.. nice if you can place also/even onto the mid of a mountain.. like a mountain top houses.. and a road can be place in the mountain without lowering the terrain.. just saying.. (i am wasnt aware if there is existing already) thanks
unfortunatly i cannot be done, when you decide to build something, the game always refers to the 0 level ground . it doesnt lift up to follow the mountain level, it simply disappear inside and you dont see it anymore till you passed the other side.
BADUM TSS?
Nice
But where can I download :)
nowhere @TheFpO . not been released yet
@RedKetchup :)Is it possible to release the project "Hobbit World" - a wonderful house Hobbits came out mod
@kralyerg - CCOrchard Foresters - fantastic mod. Add the "Hobbits World" mod to the new great story in Banished. Are you resting now? Do you have other activities? But I think you have a good heart and you will positively consider my request? Please :D
@RedKetchup :)annex
@kralyerg - CCOrchard Foresters - Great fit. Cheers!
:) I thought the same thing yesterday when I had a look at cc orchard forester. Those hobbit houses are fantastic looking mr
@RedKetchup :)
I really like these houses! I hope to see them available for download one of these days.

Ack! I got all exited when you wrote "it is available there" thinking you had made the hobbit houses available, but it was the orchard you referred to. The houses I said I really like was meaning your hobbit houses. I hope it won't be years! ??? before we get to use your hobbit houses.

Hmm, how about a "tester version" just linked here in this thread for what you did so far?
@RedKetchup , have you given any thought to finishing this project? I'm attempting my own version of Hobbiton now by using the DS hovels and basically just pretending they have round doors!
i am very sorry i have no plans to continue on this, digging and placing buildings on a slop of a mountain is very frustrating
I would be happy with roundish houses with round doors and a grass roof. They don't need to be actually underground.
I think you had a great start!
Red, you could always try converting an old root cellar mod into various dwellings
I was wondering about that very thing, Glen. I wish I knew how to mod!
Hi. I have followed the discussion with interest and it is sad that RK will not continue.
But... he is well worth taking it cool after all his years here :)
I decided to grab hold of the Hobbit idea and make some houses.
For now it is only a Beta with four houses in two textures.
I made the houses both buildable in a mountain AND as free-standing.
My wish is to continue with this, given time and strength. But it has to
be a long, slow project.
Here are some houses.
This could maybe be a Tavern with a proper sign?
For now it is a big residence.

Beta testfile in attachments
CC does have some similar buildings in the orchard forest addon mod. would match up nice with KID's houses.
CC Orchard Forester is pictured farther back in this thread - reply 25. :)
These Hobbit Houses will also go nicely with Kid Forest Deep
Oh WOW! Those are fantastic, Kid!! The door hardware looks so cute! Love love love the window details, and the flower boxes are a very sweet touch. I would add chimneys, though. Hobbits love their hearths. ;)
Would you consider a dirt/rock colored roof for the mountain version? I would also love a red door.
Abandoned, I am using Forest Deep in my pseudo-hobbity world right now. It does have a very Middle-earth feel and blends in quite nicely. I'm also trying to keep everything small, so only bitty stuff, and Kid's small workplaces, etc. I'm almost exclusively using Kid's Farmyards. They just are so stinkin cute.
I'm going to go look for the Orchard forest addon you guys are talking about.
Edited: I saw that, but could not find the download for it. I even did a search on Blackliquid forums. I'll try again.
Looks like orchard forester is only available as part of megamod and not alone? Is this correct?
nope but i couldn't find it. someone please move this to the download section. thanks
Thanks, Brad! Do you know if I can add it to my current saved Hobbity game without wreaking havoc?
you should be able to at the bottom.
I was able to add it, no problem, but I only got the gatherer hut (which is adorable) but not the little white hobbit houses Taniu has pictured here. Any thoughts?
did you check a new game and see if it is because you added the mod later?
:) The white buildings are not houses, they are the foresters that plant the orchards, the smaller tan building is the gatherer. Check all the build menus, they are probably not together. Planter may be under food or production. I don't remember.
@Jewelz I am not going to put stones (or rocks) on the roof but it gave me an idea.
You all know I like the vanilla textures so why not?
They blend in better than green grass sometimes.
Here is
Beta 2 with a third texture added to all houses.
Have you checked to see what a vanilla roof and white front wall looks like?
Abandoned Ah! He called them houses. Boo. Oh well.
Kid, the thatch looks good. No chimneys, though?
Brad, Not sure. I will do as Abandoned said and look around. Only one gatherer hut option came up with the F key, tho.
@Glenn - Yes, now I have checked. Not bad!
You people decide if you want vanilla walls or white walls.
Not both. Too many.
edit - I will add chimneys and I will edit all fences (for the future)
Gave the beta a quick peek. Cookie Likes ;D
My vote is for the white walls
Oh, cookies all around :P
:) oh, nice pictures, decorated nicely :) I like white walls too, and cookies :)

Super Cute, Cookie! I want to live there and eat cookies. I love the Koi pond in there. That blends perfectly in this dreamy scene.
White walls for sure. And red doors. And chimneys...lol :P
And Kid, once again, the Farmyards have just transformed the look of smaller villages! Was is Brad who suggested it? I just love them.
DOH! Well, it appears Bilbo's door was green, not red! I swear I remembered red.
And the thatch roof is perfect.
Hi
@Jewelz I got the farmyard from an old idea by brads but it was Abandoned who pushed me to it.
They both wanted something like this, unaware of each other.
I must write a disclaimer
@CookieBarrel - That two-story house will later be a tavern.
I think a big house like that (for 6 persons) is more suited as a tavern.
Thanks for the cookie! ;)
---
These are the three textures I will use. I will continue in the light of another day :)
Good on both of them, then.
Those textures are awesome, but where did your perfect windows go? :'(
So I checked every single button, and I don't have those white hobbity houses from the CC mod anywhere. The mystery continues.
;D Not all have those windows. This is only the first house I am re-editing.
Check the first picture. Smallest house is in darkness :)
http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?topic=963.msg67396#msg67396
@Jewelz You have them, the first icon is the gatherer, each of the trees that follow is a foresters, the white building. There are 18 different fruit trees with the white building for each one. Hover over tree icon or build one to see. See my screenshot
Want to say thanks for bringing Hobbit World under discussion again. I was also glad when
@brads3 made request for farmyard, we were thinking alike at the time. They turned out wonderfully and now a favorite.

aren't they handy? and not overpowering either.
My vote may be a little late - I like green and white and vanilla and vanilla
nobody said pink and purple yet?
;D :-X
Abandoned, I finally figured it out! I was only getting the 2 normal forester building options, so I moved it above CC, and voila! adorable foresters. mystery solved! Thanks for your help.
You know, Kid, I'm with Cookie on this. I really like that bigger building as a house for your larger Hobbit families!
Pub, house? What did I say to start ths controversy? ???
Oh I see, flowers in front of the building. What, y'all never gone to a floristy tavern before. :-*
@kid1293 ;D I really like the design of the hobbit houses - they are beautiful - there are also green, red, blue doors but I don't know if they were the original doors in the film shots? Greetings
Those Hobbit houses are cute!
After many twists and turns, I have decided on the textures.
There will be four of everything. Like this.
I kept the wood the same for all and I can stay with only one fence!
Better, when you want to connect between houses.
There will be a lot more but for now, it is Midsummer. :)
Excellent decision. ;)
You all ready have more fences. A white half fence from Stone house addon.
Enjoy you midsummer. :D
Oops I got that wrong. There is four different shades to choose from. Here's a pic of three.
Cookie, which addon is that?
Always good idea to have matching fence with the set itself - no searching for a fence that might match or is in a mod that is not enabled.

which 1? she has at least 10 mods in that 1 screenshot.
@Jewelz , sorry about that its Kid's Work Place Village not the Stone house addon although that has nice hedges
which probably work with the hobbit houses.
Kid's Work Place Village:
http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=527
Haha Brad, I meant the houses! :D I don't seem to have that one.
Are the houses Stone house addon? I'll download em all. :P But clearly I have to start another new game. DOH.
@Jewelz The houses with the green roofs are part of Kid Old Town Ports and Pirates mod
http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=493
Haha! Just when I think I have gotten every mod there is, a new-old one pops up!
curiosity got the better part of me
If one is careful in placement and with the use of terrain tools, these houses do function.
Perhaps hobbit homes might work on a hill.
That Stone housing makes me think of mtn dwarves. :)
Cookie, try DS's stone hovels. Those work nicely too.
Just a reminder here - there is a beta version of Kid Hobbit Houses back on reply #46 It is a work in progress, be patient ;D
http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?topic=963.msg67410#msg67410
I think we are just experimenting, Abandoned. After all, Sackville Baginses might build different kinds of houses. ;)
I think that is correct and so do the Bradybucks. They will all have different style.
I just do what is not too hard :)
I was just reminding as response to question elsewhere that work was being done on Hobbit mod. Apparently beta was overlooked.
My last post was meant to show how bannies can get to places like homes that wasn't meant to be used in such a way.
Yes, experiments and exploring concepts. Such as....
Mnt facades (or functional buildings) for homes. (see pic)
Hill facades to tuck hobbity buildings into
Higher ground level homes and (or) buildings.
Placement (of buildings) with minimal flattening to the slopes or hills.
Since I.m doing allot of dreaming, I wish Necora had extended her precision terrain tool beyond level 0 to -1.
As the saying goes.. beggars cant be choosy.
Dang, just remembered one of DS fences raises the ground to about 1.25. I was going to exploit this and that, was months ago!
@kid1293 , Thank you so much!
Apologies for the double post, had a little dizzy spell.
Just a couple more things to finish off.
First, uploaded wrong screenshot. This new one shows the haven house on the waterfalls better and more of the hobbit houses in aray.
Secondly, apologies to Kid for abusing his mods.
Lastly,
@kid1293 I'm not asking you to do any of those things, its just exploring ideals. However...
see that hen house? It would be nice to place it in and around a chicken pastures, it wouldn't need to do anything, just set there and look pretty.
OK, Ok this is the last thing, Off topic. I don't know who came up with the milk cow was it Abandoned? Kid? an undisclosed person? Well, I could just
kiss you all, oh what the heck :-* :-* :-* and cookies all around.
@CookieBarrel , like the pictures and experiments. I have question on how you got Haven platform on the water? We were thinking of a Swamp Haven. I confess, milk cow for Summer Haven was my idea. They turned out well :)
Lol, I just spent a couple hours on a how-to "create a waterfall view" by placing a Haven house on top of The Forest Pond.
I seriously need to learn how to read! So the question is.. how you got Haven platform on the water? Platform, platform, bloody platform.
Well let me tell you, one of the cookie elves slipped a new ingredient in the cookie dough batch which caused quit the ruckus after cookie time.
Magic was flying every where nearly taking out a whole flight of fairies. A goo of dough gooed down the hill from the tree factory into the smoking pond.
Just then reeds bloomed into vines of twisty......
Abandoned that water is Necora's special spring water.
Edit dang I can't stop laughing
To get the platform in water kid1293 would have to code the building foot print for water.
All we can do is fake it.
;D LOL ah yes, love magic ;D Yes, Swamp Havens would be totally different, we discussed it, would need different swamp trees also. I did put some puddles with ducks under Forest Haven using Necora's Maritimes Riffles. I thought you maybe figured a way to raise or lower pond or land for water haven. Picture looks nice. Maybe someday a Swamp Haven. :) Don't tell Kid I said so ??? :)
Edit: Kid Hobbit to be continued.
Note notes : Kid Fish n Ship update is probably as close as we get to a swamp haven - find info and link to download here:
