I hadn't seen some of these before! and several I did know about, didn't have release dates! I am excited :D

(not that I need more games to play haha)

Anno 1800 will be absolutely fantastic. The beta-footage of late has really inspired me.
I'm sure it will enliven some parts of the Banished community as well.

I'm a backer of Ancient Cities, which will be very unique and detailed.
The dev's are kind of stuck in a coding block to link the overhead world with the city maps and haven't been very communicative, even when postponing the beta and release to an unannounced time.
I still have faith in them to deliver something amazing though.:)

According to Steam, Anno 1800 is scheduled for release April 16.

Yes, Anno is fine and currently in closed beta and looking like a solid job.

I was talking about Ancient cities which is being delayed.;)

I have been watching some Anno 1800 on YouTube and it does look interesting.

I got Foundation on Feb 1 in Early Access on Steam. The game is really fun and should appeal to Banished lovers--open ended, keep everybody fed and happy, etc. There is no combat, but you can build a keep and recruit soldiers. Every so often a neighboring city asks you to send five and when they come back you get a reward. All population growth is through immigration. (WARNING: Satire ahead. Stop reading now if you are easily offended. You have been warned!) You can build walls, but the immigrants keep coming anyway. It appears that modding will be possible.

I am also looking forward to Soviet Republic in which you build up a "workers' paradise" from scratch.

Foundation does look really good, although it misses some of the simulation aspects I enjoy in a city builder. The freedom it offers in building is wonderful though.
Gehe, I think Banished is a nice example of what happens if you don't let in the immigrants: messed up intermingled family trees.;)

The Soviet era doesn't get enough exposure in games, Soviet Republic looks pretty interesting. I love building cities with Brute imperialistic Soviet architecture in Cities Skylines.

I can also recommend The Universim for a more light hearten approach. It's got a lovely style and it's great to see your civilization grow organically. It's still got while to go but it's on the right path.

:) oh, definitely some interesting looking new games there.

RE: Artfactial
I've seen videos on Ancient Cities. I'm truly looking forward to that game. As a backer, I suppose you will get a chance to try out early (unfinished) versions of the game. Please tell us when you get to try it out.

Another game I'm excited about is Dawn of Men. It looks fantastic! It's coming to Steam on March, 1st.

I've been looking for city-builder games which are set in the Stone Age. I do not like fighting or warfare so I am curious to learn if you can deselect having raids.

One of the reasons I love Banished is the fact that there are no enemies. So I'm very interested in learning about games where you can deselect fighting/raids/war.

RE:1

Oh, I used to LOVE Settlers. I don't remember if I had Settlers 1, 2 or 3. But I do remember you could play without any other team on the map (=no fighting). I loved to plan out the whole map. After my computer crashed and I got a new one I no longer were able to play the game.

I saw on Steam that they have a Settlers game for sale. But as I researched, and saw YouTube videos of peoples gameplay... I was soo disappointed. The game is nothing like the one I used to play.

Oh... can you tell me how you made @Tonje a clickable link? And tell me what it is for?
Also, how do you make a quote?
I tried it yesterday but nothing happened. That's why I write RE: instead.

EDIT: It seems that the link got made by itself. I just wrote @Tonje and it got automatic change. Strange. Lets try... @1 ............. hmm.......

if you want to manually quote something, you need to put [ quote] at begining, and at the end of the citation, you put a [ /quote]

a [ /quote] and [ quote] dont need a space inside. write it without a space.

I just click on the quote link in the top right corner of each post and it automatically inserts the quoted post. See the screenshots below.

I read others that have tried that and it doesn't work and I don't understand why it doesn't work for them. It works fine for me.  :o
