Kid - Plimoth Harmonized V1.3

The Pilgrim suggested that Plimoth Plantation needed a face-lift.
I made new textures and renamed everything. You can have both mods active.
This colour change is not historically correct but it fits Banished better.

V1.3 - Another request from The Pilgrim. A plantation Fort that functions as town hall.
Abandoned wanted a Stockade to go with the fort.
I also added some pieces to build a Fence.

I got a request from The Pilgrim to change that gray roofing
in the Plimoth Plantation mod. I made all new textures and
renamed everything so it can be used together with the original.

I had a good time doing it. Changing textures was what I started with. :)
And as a bonus it was my own files, it was quickly done.  ;)
To a good result, I hope.

so you are saying we can use both mods then? that  is good.

yes, good results  :) they look wonderful with that wood texture.  Is that some happy roof texture also that I see there?

...no, not happy. More like balanced with the smell of fresh wood. :)
The plantation as it was in the beginning.

And it is perfectly safe in a 1.06 game.

happy this is safe for 106, I'm wondering when I should update to 107.  It might not be long before we get the final update.

Could be. Sometimes Luke acts after his own timetable.
I have done all my mods with beta versions and if this last version
is going to be released, I rest my case. They work fine.
No old 1.06 mods have trouble that I know of and some of the new
changes will certainly have an impact in the future. Flags/limits/building requirement
So I am glad I updated to beta to put the new limits in, if nothing else.

It is save to update to 1.07 Beta 3

No mods, besides maybe a few very old ones what not work with any 1.07 anyway, are broken as far as I know.

Just get out of the 1.06 pool and dive right into the deep waters of 1.07 @Abandoned  :)

You are missing so much new stuff by clinging to much to 1.06.  ;)  :D

Besides, you can always copy your whole 1.06 Banished game folder to a different folder and have two versions.

thanks guys, I just don't want to have to rearrange all the mods twice.  It took me until now to try all the 106 mods I had downloaded, NMT and Tequila were the last two major mods I hadn't tried yet.  Do I leave the mods in the game folder when I update or must I take them all out first?

I did nothing with my mod list or mods.

I just overwrote the files supplied by Luke into my Banished Game folder and run the game and all the mods were still in the same order as before.
Luke's update only affects the Banished Game folder were you have Banished installed.

It overwrites 3 DLL's and the executable in both the WIN32 as The WIN64 folder. Then it overwrites the two Patch files in the windata folder.

The mods have entrees in the Windows Registry and the saves are located in a folder in your My Documents folder and are not touched by the Update.

oh thank you @embx61 that is good to know.  It was such a pain arranging all those mods, I was not looking forward to doing it all again.  I will make another major backup first like I did when I started adding some of the safe to use 107's.  There certainly are a lot of great new mods to use.   :)

Good, as I do not know how to update with steam and maybe is different.

It is really easy. Download the Update from Luke's site.

Then open the folder after unzipping. You see one folder named WinData with two patch files in it and you see 8 files: 2 Applications files and 6 DLL files.

Now select all the files with ends with 32 (4 of them) (Those are if you running Banished in a 32 bit Windows and copy them to the banished folder were Banished is located.
They must be pasted in the folder underneath your Main Banished Folder named Win32 and if Windows ask to overwrite click YES.

Then select the 4 files with ends in 64 (also 4) and copy and paste them in the folder under the Banished Game folder named Win64 and overwrite.

Then go to the WinData folder  in Luke's update and select the two patch files in that folder.
Copy and paste those in both the Windata folder under Banished/Win32/WinData and Banished/Win64/WinData and overwrite.

That's it. Now start the game and enjoy the new version of Banished with all the mods intact (At least for me that was the case).

@embx61

Yup, the mods stay in the same order as they were before the update.

But I always like to play it safe when it comes to game updates (you just never know what might go wonky with an update that you might not like) so I always create a completely new separate game folder from the older game, rename it, and install the update to the new copied folder leaving the old one alone.  This way the old game stays the same and is completely untouched by any new updates.

So far, I have 5 different Banished game folder shortcuts on my desktop which gives me the choice of playing whichever Banished Version I'm in the mood for:

- Banished CC Journey
- Banished North 5
- Banished 106
- Banished 107
- Banished 107 v3  (the latest update I decided to keep it separate too just in case something goes wonky with it)

All are completely separate game folders with completely separate game play, but any and all mods that I copy over to each game stays in the exact same order as they were in the previous versions.  Once they are added into the Windata folder and enabled, they stay in whatever order you've listed them in originally.... and if you move them around to change the mod list order, they'll stay in that new order also.

In a nutshell:  Updates don't affect the mod list order whatsoever.... or at least no updates have done that thus far that I've ever experienced.

@Abandoned

Just to be on the safe side, make a copy of your 106 folder and rename it "Banished 107" (or whatever you want to call it) and then install the update to that new folder only.  This way your old trusty 106 game folder is safe from any changes from the new 107 update.

Your old 106 game will stay exactly the same way as it is.  Doing it this way is also a good way of making sure any old mods don't get mixed up with any new mods that you might accidentally override when you start adding a bunch of new mods.

You can copy all of your 106 mods over to the new 107 folder, or you can delete the ones you no longer want from the new folder because you plan to update those old ones with the newer 107 mod updates.... the choice is yours.  And by the way, any old 106 mods that you replace with updated 107 mods that are exactly the same as the 106 mod except for the community toolbar change, those too will stay exactly in the same order as their old 106 mod originally was....

In other words:  any new updated 107 mod that still has the same name as the old 106 one will keep it's original mod order on the mod list.  But if the name has been changed to something different, then it will be recognized as a completely new mod and will be added to the top of the mod order list instead.

Just something for you to keep in mind.

@ancientmuse thank you so much, I think that is what I shall do.  I would like a separate setup for the North with recommended mods and favorites, and one for CC. Then I will do a little more experimenting with CC.  Separate game setups will certainly shorten the mod list in the miscellaneous Banished game.

When I updated to 106, I uninstalled and reinstalled the new version, but at that time I didn't have nearly as many mods as I do now.  And it looks like I am going to need a new spiral notebook for all my notes and version numbers.  That 107 mod download section is quite impressive and overwhelming. I do already have quite a few 107 mods in my game and several special 106 versions from @kid1293 which I very much appreciated.  Thank you again Kid  :)  I want to be sure to add these great new plimouth retextured buildings to my 106 game before I do anything else.
