mariesalias and RNG

"The term "RNG" has connotations that are far wider then you may be allowing for. It is a widely-used gaming term now that encompasses more then just dice rolls.

Isn't game RNG itself an algorithm? Or PRNG, if we want to be more accurate.

I have a difficult time imagining my guild mates complaining about algorithms when the boss fails once again to drop their needed item! However, making disparaging remarks about RNG happens often enough (in jest). :D


Of course, I may not be the best judge of this type of thing, I still call console controllers, "paddles" to the never-ending amusement of my friends. I tend to side with Juliet:
