Hello everybody, ;D
I would like to ask some things that despite the excellent tutorial(and game) I still do not understand, perhaps because of my inexperience in these types of games.
He greatly appreciated all your advice.

1- people, are automatically assigned to the basic worker role, then automatically collect wood /stone?

2- When I order to cut the trees, do the workers take the wood and deliver it to the nearest storage or at the market if it is present?

3- According to the above point, my diffculty lies in understanding the production of resources. The data on the resources that I find in the village summary sheet, is the sum of the resources stored in all the warehouses / warehouses of the village? Or is it a budget so is it "resource" - "committed resource" = "excess resource"?

Thanks guys for patiente, i hope you can help me  8)

thanks and good game

ps sorry for my poor english!!

1. When you start a town, and when someone becomes an adult, they're automatically a labourer. They collect resources if you order them to do so (bu marking resources for removal), and they move stuff around, helping other workers. They will also replace anyone with a specialised job when they die, so it's important to have at least one labourer no matter what – if there isn't anyone to replace your teacher, students will drop out and you'll end up with a bunch of uneducated workers, which is a big efficiency hit.

2. They will deliver it to the closest storage, which can be a market, but they won't choose it over any other type of storage. However, you can't have just the market as your only storage for all I know – then no-one will deliver produced goods anywhere.

3. If you mean the window that shows you general village info, it shows everything you have in storage except for trading posts. If you want to see what you have in all your trading posts and people's homes, you need town hall statistics.

Thanks you very much for this help!
Now i've more understand some concept.

So, in this game there aren't an "hour production", but you can check the past year production on some structure.

Finally, i would ask some advice, because in my village i never have a firewood  :(
I've 34 people on work and 1 fiewood worker...is sufficent?

Thanks

whenever you build a new house, the bannies will try to stock up on firewood. So you'll go through a lot of it when giving them homes. Have you checked the actual Woodcutter's production to see if they are producing firewood? If it's being made and you are just running out that's one thing. But if you have no labourer, then your Woodcutter is probably struggling to get materials.

I would put a halt on stone production at the quarry and turn those workers into labourers, and then tell them to harvest resources directly. Early-game it's usually more efficient to just harvest resources rather than build a quarry.

Plus you've got some buildings that have reached their production maximums. So those workers are not being used. Re-assign them for a short time as labourers or builders or they will just idle.

And, why are you removing those buildings? That will cost you labour and slow down efficiency.

How much does your wood cutter produce? You can see it at the menu. It depends on many things. It looks like you play "vanilla" without mods. An extremely good educated woodcutter can make 1000 firewood each year, but normally about 700. Is he uneducated, live far away, unhappy, unhealthy, have bad clothes or the stores for logs and firewood are far away (I can see they are not here) he may not make more than 300.

It's not each person who need firewood, it's each house. If I remember right; If you play "fair climate" a wood house needs about 50 firewood each year, a stone house 35. I see at least 10 wooden house, so yes if the production isn't very good, you might need another chopper.

I also agree with @BlueFireChelle; no mines and quarries especially not at the beginning. Use laborers to pick stones and iron. Mines and quarries are the worse buildings in Banished. I usually buy stones when those on the ground are gone.

did you check and set limits at the start? those limits can be helpful. you can check the housing inventory also. then set the firewood limit to what the houses are stocking at least.the bannies will stock the houses at the same time, spring and fall. if they run short and have to wait for the cutter to get more firewood ,they will not be as productive.
i also use some "general guide rules". 1 food worker per every 5 bannies. this includes hunters, fishermen, gatherers, and farmers. it also will depend if you have modded buildings that may give less food and the size of the fields. i use 10x10 and average over 500 each.

a townhall will give you lots more information to help you adjust the workers.

i see you have no education. with no education you are losing 33 logs of every tree you cut. and you are losing 25% firewood from every log you cut into firewood.
your school should be your very first building you build unless you build a gatherer which in this case it should be the 2nd first building you build.

not counting of all the 20% on food lost... and up to 50% on certain other things like tools, coats, etc.

i also suggest to choose to build a woodhouse only for the first 5 houses you build. after go always for  stone houses.
do that, and you will see a such diffirence.

In the screenshot I see you have no laborers. You need laborers. They move stuff around the map for the various trades, plus if a trade person dies, they will be replaced by a laborer. If you don't have any laborers, you lose production on that trade.

You definitely need a school. If you solve your firewood problem, you're very likely to have a tool shortage. An uneducated worker gets 1 iron per 1 surface ore, and 2 logs per tree. Then, the blacksmith takes 1 log and 1 iron to produce 1 iron tool. So for that amount of work you get 1 tool and 1 spare log. For educated, you get 2 iron units per surface ore, and 3 logs per tree. The blacksmith takes 1 log and 1 iron to produce 2 iron tools. So here, you get 4 tools and 1 spare log, for almost the same amount of work (with educated workers blacksmith gets materials for 4 tools, so they work twice). So you lose 75% of your tool production if you don't build schools.

Firewood is a bit better. For uneducated you get 2 * 3 = 6 firewood per tree, for educated 3 * 4 = 12 firewood per tree, so you lose 50%.

After you build a school, make sure to always have at least 1 labourer no matter what – if your teacher dies and there isn't a labourer to replace them, all the students will drop out. If you're going for the Uneducated achievement (which I think is the hardest of all), you need to increase your production, and grow really slowly.

Using that map and your starting conditions, here is what I would have done, in order:

  • Pause the game.
  • Build an 11x11 crop field in the empty space and staff it with a single worker. If you started with a grain, grow that.  Otherwise, grow anything but squash (it's too slow when you're counting on every last bit of food).
  • Place a school.  Set two builders and unpause the game. (run it no faster than 5x speed)
  • Once all the resources for the school are placed, set the remaining laborers to gather wood, stone, and iron from the area where I intend to place my houses.
  • When the school is built, staff immediately.
  • Place and build a single wooden house.
  • Place and pause a gatherer, wood cutter, hunting cabin, forester, blacksmith, tailor, and the rest of the houses.
  • Unpause and build the above, in order.
Never allow yourself to be without at least one laborer.  In the early years you can staff your gatherer with a single worker.  Don't bother staffing the tailor until you have a store of hides from your hunter.  It will probably be several years.  You can staff the blacksmith only as long as necessary to get 50 tools, then do without for several years.  In general, the early years of the game are a balancing act between gathering enough resources and processing them into firewood, tools, and food.  Oh, and I typically set my firewood limit up to 300 right off the bad, so I'm less likely to ever run completely out.  Until I have enough adults to staff everything all the time, the only things I keep constantly staffed are the school, crop field(s), gatherer, hunter, and wood cutter. I don't typically bother with a market until I'm ready to plant a second "village" and I put it between the two, though placing and pausing it isn't a bad idea.  Then you can place your tailor, woodcutter, and blacksmith right next to the market for highest efficiency.  I fill the rest of the space against the market with housing for all of those workers.
Final thought: build a bigger stockpile, and delete the starting one.
