Title: Banished and the Registry
Post by: Paeng on June 09, 2017, 09:20:46 AM
I'm still trying to find out why Gordon's tool doesn't work for me... so I checked my reg again and found this weird thing - look at the screenshot (attached), in the right column you see a mix of "true" and "false", even though all mods are enabled (and thus all should show "true")...

I have to check this again in a fresh town, but right now it seems to me as if all the "false" entries are the mods I loaded later into the game, with only the originally loaded mods showing "true".

So there is some sort of "misunderstanding"... mods added at a later point are registered, but flagged as "false" (not enabled). Which is weird, because the mods work fine in-game... but it fouls up the results of Gordon's tool, apparently.

* Not sure if this input is useful to anyone, but I thought I put it here anyways...   :-\

I've managed to get it to work thanks to @QueryEverything and his excellent tutorial in the original topic. I never clean the registry before starting a new map. The only mod that shows disabled in my current game is the one that I haven't enabled anyway. And I have added some mods to a running game.

Yeah well, I read QE's tips, and she is not doing anything different than I do...  :)

There is something screwy in my reg, or in the way Banished transports the info... but I'd need to see another reg to compare.

Anyway, as long as it does not mess up my game, that's fine... just collecting more building blocks for possible trouble-shooting  ;)
