Intel Processor Kernel Memory Leak
« on: January 03, 2018, 05:55:32 AM »
Anyone else heard about this?

https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/01/02/intel_cpu_design_flaw/

Here's another link that AMD users might be interested in.

https://hothardware.com/news/intel-cpu-bug-kernel-memory-isolation-linux-windows-macos

It talks about AMD near the end.

"A spokesperson for Intel was not available for comment". What a surprise  :o
I just don't understand why they want to force the patch on AMD processors too. It doesn't explain much about this point in the article

Meltdown and Spectre affect more than just Intel processors and more than just computers.

Intel, AMD, and ARM processors are all at risk.
