Running Banished on Linux
« on: November 09, 2018, 02:00:51 AM »
A couple of years ago I made the move from Windows 7 to Linux Mint (currently running 18.3 Cinnamon 64-bit) in the main it was a great decision and I would never go back to using Windows again but of course most of my games were window versions and in a lot of cases on Steam as well, with SimCity 4 I ended up with a virtual Win XP desktop to run it and with Banished I had to buy the GOG version of the game and run it using PlayOnLinux.

Anyway back in August Steam announced Steam for Linux

At the time I had other things going on so its only recently that I tried it out, so far SimCity 4 works ok but I am having issues with the screen resolution size and as for Banished as far as its possible to tell its installed perfectly but its so slow that at least on my computer its not playable.   :'(

I chanced windows to linux recently. In windows i used to play banished with about 200 mods. But now banished in linux and playonlinux + wine i have to go down with mods a little.
Im not good with computers and this site was a lot of help:
If somebody needs easy guide to play banished on linux.
Without mods banished is not the same at all. With mods its one of my favorite games ever.
