Yeah, I think a lot of people forget that high-speed internet is not a universal truth. I'm fortunate in that I live in a city and have really good internet service, but I know plenty of people whose only option is slow, unreliable, overpriced satellite internet that only works when the stars are aligned just so.
There's a guy on another forum I frequent who, every time a topic about internet service providers or related comes up, tells people that lack of choice is their fault for living where they do. And he is no youngster, so it's not only the youthful folk who have that "interesting" view of reality.
I really am thankful that the gaming world is open to me, though. Gaming has been a form of therapy for me, especially over the last few years. I'm sure my roommate is thankful, too, because it makes me a lot easier to live with.
