I have an option for the nut orchards: Pine nuts. You have a whole forest of these, why not use them?
From Wikipedia:
About 20 species of pine produce seeds large enough to be worth harvesting, these are the more commonly used species:
Old World
Mediterranean Stone pine
Swiss pine
Korean pine
Chilgoza pine
Siberian pine
Siberian dwarf pine
Chinese white pine
Lacebark pine
New World
Mexican pinyon
Orizaba pinyon
Johann's pinyon (includes P. discolor – Border pinyon)
Potosi pinyon
Texas pinyon or Papershell Pinyon
Two-needle piñon or Colorado pinyon (when grown in Colorado)
Single-leaf pinyon
Parry pinyon
I mean, it could be great as a starting gather food, whole forest right there full of them. As well as an orchard option. They are supposed to be healthier for you than some other more common nuts too!
I thought about it, and do have plans to do it, but I have decided I would need to make a new pine tree model first as I don't want to use the vanilla tree to drop them.
So it is a good suggestion.
