Kid & Abandoned - Native Village
https://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=612
Hi.
This is our try to make a Native settlement.
I learned a lot about Native life and the People of the plains while doing this.
Abandoned came with most of the ideas and we searched out the info.
There are teepees and longhouses. A Fire Tent for curing tobacco and
to gather for a smoke. There are Sweat Lodge, Medicine Man, and Chief's Hut.
Some deco are also included. ...and more :)
I hope I have not stepped on any toes while making this.
I have tried to get away from popular/commercial images of Native Americans
but the game has its limitations and we can only do so much.
the Indians have done a rain dance so the great sheep will rain down on you as you rest. your buildings match up with those i have seen in museums. excellent work. enjoy the break.
Nice, very nice indeed
My only nitpick is that the totem poles like that were usually only done by the native people on the Pacific Northwest and they usually lived in cedar plank longhouses like these.
That being said. I certainly wouldn't complain if we had a set based on them too.
@feneris Actually the model of the totem pole looked more Aztec or Mayan than Native American before Kid customized it. We were aiming for something that looked more like a thunderbird than an eagle or hawk.
@kid1293 ;D
@Abandoned ;D Thank you so much for the fantastic mod. Cheers

Hey
@kid1293 , great mod here I like it a lot.
I was wondering if you had future plans for expanding this mod to include food production, preservation more specifically? Like drying and smoking the Game meat, Rabbit Meat, Fish and Venison etc,? And to make something from the foods collected by the Gatherer including the Berries, and also the Wild Honey from your Hunting Grounds?
I am not trying to pile on to your work load or take time away from your break, just wondering is all.
Thanks.
@MarkAnthony This mod is has been completed and just released. We had thought of drying but decided against it, there are deco drying racks instead. The early plains tribes were more about survival than production. They dried buffalo and corn. There is no future plans for this mod. Glad to hear you like the mod. :)
Only problem I see is, you have several different tribes' styles going on here. But I won't nit pik.
Hi Twilight.
I must answer that I am in the dark about the different tribes. I have mixed from what I found in pictures and
what I read about. I tried to keep it as general as I could. Any special style is maybe lost. I also had to simplify
things because of a lack of information. What I thought would match is maybe not true to the real thing.
I am sorry if I have made any serious errors.

It's fine, Kid. You meant no disrespect, and you're not even from North America, so how would you know? Worry not.
:) That's what I said :) We did the best possible with models and meanings. Even the cemetery is a burial grounds and tombstones and crosses are replaced with burial mounds. I was unable to show in blog story, no one died, sorry no picture of it.

Oh so the Native cemetery
was supposed to have something displayed inside of it? I had three people die after my Native cemetery was built and it was just completely flat and blank inside of it, nothing visual to see.
:-[ Maybe the mounds were too discreet. I had the same problem.
Thanks,

@kid1293 ;D ;D ;D @ kid1293; I didn't want to comment on your @kid mods - in my opinion all mods are great - as a veteran I can say something about it - in my opinion - if @kid releases anything from mods - all mods are great and polished in detail ... I really enjoy playing with mods released via @Kid - many things are useful in the game, many players are happy with what was added to the game - @Kid is a great moderator - he is a very hardworking person, - I have great respect for what you do for us @ Kid you don't have to apologize, no everything can be put into this game - you have your vision and we players have to accept it - I emphasize - some players forget that Banished is just a game - it's not a history game - it's a game where you can put different scenarios and stories about Banished's fate - anything can happen - I personally have a problem with elves? Still wondering? - there are many races and different countries. ELVES are presented differently - are they similar to humans, only slim and with pointed ears or as little pixies or imps? - I read a lot about it - I think I will add forest elves to my game - I'm not sure people are calm - they don't like wars with other races - they are presented as vegetarians - they ride horses and have wonderful bows and swords - especially forged but some races of elves hunt and eat game - @Kid - if someone writes you negative reviews - don't worry - you won't please all players - we all see it differently. the tents are great and they have different shapes, the atmosphere of that time is ok Greetings
@kid1293 ;D ;D ;D sorry for my English. GOOGLE translators - there are translation errors into English - but I think @ Kid you understood my quote, I improved my post - today. I really like raspberries - a beautiful specimen. Thank you. Greetings
Actually I do not believe what is being perceived as a negative comment was meant to be a criticism, only pointing out the fact that there are some native buildings in Native Village that would be more suited to other tribes.
We tried to represent the tribes of the plains as best we could, in their life styles and beliefs. The mod of course can be used as the player chooses - with respect to the Native people. Enjoy

Are there any uses for the Rare Feather, other than trade fodder?
There is no use for the feather. It was mainly added for the story #60 (link above) to show that the Natives held certain things as special or sacred, saw things as signs or having special meanings, worth more than fodder. :)
Question: What is the tobacco good for besides trade fodder? It's considered a textile, I think? :-\
Tobacco (a textile) can be traded or it can go to the Fire Tent to be cured - there it is used like alcohol (smoking peace pipe)
Ah, Thanks!!
Also, how do I get down for the warmer coats? Is it only from trader?
Kid Farmyard duckpond produces down
The down started in Tanypredator's Wild Grouse.
When she left Banished, I edited the files and made them independent of White Chicken.
I also added a new Game model.
The original.

Added here below is my edit. All thanks to
@tanypredator for the original.
I should say that you can not have any mods with a start condition together
with the grouses. Look for some of my start condition mods which include grouses.
Ok. Thanks again!
