Cool! I love markets...  :)

Quotetwo larger units (3x3) : Food (All edible) - General (Herbs, Tools, Clothing, WoodFuel)

Personally I prefer that, more than tiny stalls with just one type...
I'd also love one with the CC flags like "Materials"...  :P

Just played a long round with your current market - very versatile, and with the two textures different enough... the only thing I'd wish for are more color accents, the all brown sort of becomes "invisible" when you build up around it...  ;)

Oh, and we could use some more and different and colorful small carts, sacks, barrels, crates and stuff... :)

Quotenot sure about Building Material. There are very good StorageYard mods out there.

Yeah, better than clogging a small market with rocks and logs... :)

Paeng:

The size 3x3 is something like
000
001
011
where 0=building and 1=road
I use the same footprint but I change the models.
I could build 4x4 but it would not be so versatile.
You can put space (and access) around it.

Do you know the specific CC flags? Anyone?

I can put them with The General Goods. Or?
Maybe make more models available.

But I will play with tiny and small stall too.

edit: added testpicture for Paeng
Is this more what you want (too much / too little)?
edit2: added a little more

Actually I didn't mean the roofing - specially the thatch looks great, imo...

Color accents - more on the wares laid out, a bit more chaos with small piles of stuff, open crates, different barrels...  ;)

EDIT
Oh, for the flags I'm sure Red or K can tell you more...

I could like some markets in style to dock houses or something.

This is only sample, and you asked for ideas. :)

I wish I could do that!

That means either be dependent on CC or NMT for coastline/canal
or building up a coastline settlement myself. Right now I don't
think I can do it. But keep bombing... :)

I mean only houses, not canals. :D

I could think of a fishing village, but rowhouses are a little
too modern, no?

for the markets I think a woodfuel only market would be handy :)

and I agree with Paeng, 'busy-well-stocked' market stalls, lots of color, different shapes and objects.

Sorry Discrepancy, I've had a long session testing flags and other things.
I can not make a woodfuel-only market. It works but the little people
keep carrying coal back and forth. They get stuck in doing that.

Maybe CC with coal as material can solve the problem but then I would be
dependent on CC.

edit: posting a picture of my progress with general goods market.

@kid1293, have you ever looked at Small Markets Version 4 done by @slink some time ago?  http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=18

Her graphics were appropriate for early North American frontier (which may not be what you are going for), but I think she got the distribution of goods to various vendors just about right. If I'm not doing CC towns or NMT heavy towns I use them all the time.

rkelly17:

Something like that, but not the graphic, is what I want.
I keep it like market stalls to keep the size down.
Wish I could have more variations but then again, the size.

That's why I imagined a tiny-tiny herb vendor.
Nice to put in an very small place. :)
But who needs a herb vendor when you got a 5x6 barn next door?

When it comes to houses they can be larger, but I have to find
the right style.

Short reply:
Maybe I should take the rowhouse style and make markets?

Discrepancy:

Good news (I hope)!
Seems like a flag was missing in my general market when I was testing,
so after a dinner and two beers I had a real AHA!!
Later there may be a small woodfuel-only market.
