First harvest of a timothy/clover ley. Summer is declared!
Nice!
Call out the laborers -- I see some stone just begging to be collected.
That's a beautiful area.
Gjerpen valley in Telemark, Norway. I run a, for Norway, medium sized farm (a bit above 40 ha fields and pastures, 120 ha forest of which 75 ha is harvestable)- 22 milking cows, 60 cattle in total. Very smallscale when compared to other countries.
That's lovely. *big smile* Our neighbors' corn (maize) is about between 6 and 8 inches (15 and 20 cm) tall now.
Many of the farmers here about have just been doing their first hay cutting--in part because we've had a couple of weeks without too much rain for it to dry. The corn is just starting to come up, about 6-8" too. Still not horribly warm--low 20s (20=68 for you Fahrenheit folks).
@kee that's a good sized farm and it sounds like a nice setup.
