Hi. I open this thread to discuss some buildings I am doing.
It started with
@galensgranny who wanted a park (and a lot more). :)
I thought it could a be small themed mod with some building surrounding the park.
A school and some houses. I don't know what the park will look like but I know
there will be some trees. Maybe fruit trees...
Today I decided textures for this and I came up with some rather friendly ones.
First out is the school. A small school. Maybe there are plans for a 'college'
edit - I checked a second texture for the walls. Maybe better. (not both!)
Such a nice little school building! I like the shape. :) I really love the gray stone wall texture with the little chunks of stone, and I think it looks better with that roof, so if there can't be both, gray stone walls please.
Very attractive roof pattern! :) Multi toned roofs are so nice, especially with a sort or reddish, deep orangy tone in the pattern, as in this new roof. I like the blue-ish gray tone in it too (it seems to have a hint of blue to me on my monitor, or maybe my how my eyes perceive color.)
Yes, "friendly" textures, as you said.
Trees in the park, certainly, and fruit trees sound nice.
This is great, and so exciting! Thank you so very much! :)
What a pretty roof texture.
Sweet textures! :)
Love TestToo! Great Roof!
Then most are in favor of wall two? Me too!
I will make the school as residential house instead, it is too small for a school.
Later I will try to make granny's 'college'. Larger but same textures.
I am busy today but have started on a second house. Maybe tomorrow.
:)
Yeah, I definitely think the grey wall texture is the one to go with. Looks the nicest with the roof.
Another small house. Very similar in style, I like both.
Another fancy thing, i like it. ;)
I like the building being a house, and now a second style house! :) I am glad there will be more stone walled houses. I have been wanting more styles or textures of stone houses. Thanks!
Maybe there is no real need for a school?
I will do a third house any day soon,
but right now I am thinking about a park.
I don't know how to make it.... nice?
Just put some trees there and call it a park is not nice. :)
There isn't really a need for a school. With these new stone buildings, their textures and colors will coordinate nicely with the stone school with the salmonish pink roof from your Stone House Add On set. The size seems in proportion to one another.
For the park, benches are good. Red Ketchup has some benches but they are not ghosted to put where ever one desires. So, you might just put some benches in that are part of the park.
I have been thinking a long time of a play area for the children, so maybe in the park there could be a swing and maybe a slide. Something like the Tot Town Playground Structure slide would be nice: http://www.byoplayground.com/tot-town-playground-structure
A small gazebo would be good too. People can picnic under them or musicians use them as a stage for outdoor concerts. Here are several ideas: http://www.swagbucks.com/?sfp=h&t=i&p=1&isHomeMain=true&q=gazebo
Your town hall in the Kid - Tiny V1.4 Separate ( http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=336 ) is sort of already like a gazebo, if you got rid of the top half of the walls.
The park is already swinging! :)
I have thought about a swing but a slide ... maybe.
A gazebo sounds great. Together with some benches it can fill empty spaces.
My thought is to make a park area with new trees and some static deco.
But also release the deco as ghosted items you can add yourself.
That would give some variation.
It's ok with no slide. As long as there is something for children play on, such as a swing, it's good.
I love your idea to make some of the deco ghosted, so items can be added or not, and also can then be used elsewhere. ;D I started making some large property homes so it would be nice for the bannies to have things to add to their yards besides the already available plants and trees.
The work is slow now.
I always come to a point where I think too much.
At least here is the third house.
I will try something with the park this afternoon. With a swing. :)
House 3 is wonderful! I like the front porch/ sort of porch. (I think it doesn't get called a porch if there is no flooring.) Can a road tile go up to the door, so that there is not just grass in front of the door if one puts a road up to the house?
Yes, roadtile all the way to the door.
I got busy making a gazebo. Later today I can show you.
Looking forward to the gazebo, and all the rest!
Here is a look at the gazebo.
A simple model, but I hope it will fit in.
I decided NOT to make it ghosted. No fun having people running through the walls. :(
It's perfect!
The next one was simple.
Enough for today. :)
Yes, not too much design elements go into swings. Looks great! My bannies are eager to get swinging!
Oh I like that gazebo and the swing too. Very nice. :)
Love all the new things, especially that swing.
A little more to come.
A couple of benches. Will be placed in park and available as ghosted deco.
Stone framed benches! ;D At least it looks like stone. Very nice!
Is a slide too modern?
No, a slide is not too modern. Anyway, people aren't always playing as if they are in the Middle Ages. I don't. But I am sure children in the far past have set things up to slide down.
Although, splinters could be a problem on a wood slide. Not on a see-saw, though. See-saws were more likely in the Middle Ages. But, we don't have make everything historically accurate for the Middle Ages since Banished can be any time period.
No, not a wood slide, You'll see :)
Maybe the blacksmith makes a metal slide?
@galensgranny Yes a metal bottom with wood and stone frame.
Not too bad but I have some moiree pattern on the metal in sunlight. (stripey)
I have made it 4 inches thick :) but the pattern is still there.
Looks good! It seems like what a homemade slide by a doting blacksmith father out in the woods would be like.
Or a state-of-the-art slide in the middle of the town. :D :D

Or a state-of-the-art slide in the middle of the town. :D :D
Oh, yes, indeed! :) It actually is a cool looking slide. Fireproof too, unless the fire is so hot it could melt metal. The stone part would survive well. I like that slide texture. I won't have such a sun glare like the real metal playground slides I had used.
I have an idea about the slide landing in a sandbox.
I maybe have to adjust it. Nothing big. The sandbox will be separate.
That's a great idea. I was thinking with the steepness of that slide the landing could feel rather hard. A separate sandbox is good as then it can also be used as a regular sandbox for children to play in.
Could not keep away. :)
Now it is good for today.
That's good! Very realistic looking sandbox. I wonder if it seems too large, though. Maybe not.
Will the kids actually play on these, or are they just deco?
I wish the kids could really play on them, but they are just deco. Unless there is a way to make them "use" the items, but I don't think so.
Sorry but all I can do is put some happiness on them, but then all bannies just stand there.
I made sandbox just a little smaller. The things work well together.
Those look really, really nice.
The newest sandbox is better sized to the slide. So nice to see the items together. It will be nicer to see them in my game. :)
want more ideas??
I like the merry-go-round also known as a roundabout.
One could be made to give edible water, like a real life Playpump in Africa (which is not the best way to try to get enough water for a town unless there are lots and lots of children "playing" for hours a day.) http://www.dispatchlive.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/play.png

Hi
@galensgranny !
Finally!
I have uploaded the park. I hope you will enjoy it! :)
It is modular and most pieces are available as deco.
I am a bit tired now and merry-go-round has be some other time.
School too.
:)
Yay! Thank you so very, very much! :D ;D :-*
