Title: New Veganville
Post by: assobanana76 on September 23, 2014, 03:12:05 AM
I was (and still am) a rookie of video game simulation / city building..
my first city, my first project was.. VEGANVILLE!
a project foundered! a disaster!
I was not aware of the relationship 1 year > 4 years and my people died of old age without the possibility of reproduction such that I can allow you to proceed.

I learned a lot from my mistakes and then I founded NEW VEGANVILLE!!
same small valley map seed. mild weather. disaster on.
banished animal protein!! :) again A VEGAN CITY!
no fish, no deer killed, no chickens, no sheep, no cattle, no eggs, no meat.
no fishing dock, no hunting cabin, no pasture.
soon cotton / flax for clothes!!

it will be possible to achieve it?
thanks to everyone for the advice!

VEGANVILLE. first attempt .. all wrong.. crops on mountain.. and woods in plain!?!?

update!
I overdid it with the mod ..
I have added and removed many really!
so much so that the game continues to crash and now the last save useful 8/22/2014!
I am now traveling to 10x to rebuild everything, trying not to commit blunders!

more or less to start from here:

It looks very nice and neat.

I had some problems with crashes and mods, too. I suspect these new maps/landscaping/modeling- stuff are not very stable, specially together with other mods. I have thrown every mod out and started everything from scratch. Now I play a game without mods, but than after that, I will be very careful, only loading a few good ones.

I see you have built this windmill and bakery. Does it work properly now? Or do people still using it as a small barn?

Thanks !!
yes in fact I am very much .. "geometric"! :)
but it is also my job!
I managed to trap fields to the millimeter!

in fact I am at this point ..
in the recovery phase to 10x speed.

I'm waiting to build windmill / bakery because my citizens piled plums in the mill! (but ill_Tonsko does not seem willing to correct the mistake!)
and waiting to build a tailor waiting ShockPuppet update his mod with cotton .. http://www.banishedmods.com/showthread.php?tid=1429

and I must say that the loss of the bailouts was actually good!
I was able to correct errors that I was growing as the lack of tools!
I solved with the addition of a blacksmith, specialized stock pile near the mines and homes for the miners near the mine!
almost a new district productive/residential!

but there is still much to do!

e.g. happiness is low even though the cemetery and the tavern!

Wow, that's a lot of mods, I was thinking, and I see it didn't turn out too good :( Happy you got it back up and running though. Lacking tools and clothes, but hopefully that is sorted now. However, health is low. Is there a Herbalist in your vegan city,  I wonder..?

Didn't even know there was a bakery mod out there. If it gets updated and works well, please let us know :)

I have never noticed any increase of happiness from the brewery, as it said to have. And the effect from the graveyards take some time. Unfortunately people are unhappy for life, if someone in the house dies and there is no graveyard.

before the disaster were three, now have two (I have given priority to mining and quarrying because I knew there would be no shortage of there in two years)!
still lacks the church to be built in it .. I also hope for happiness ..

the current mods works well. I have not had any other problems, for the moment !! :)

it is also true that a lot of beer is exchanged for tools!
it is worth 8 units!

actually works .. the mill creates flour and baker creates bread  ..
the only problem is that people use the mill and the bakery as a storage barn and then you would see a bustle of people who load and unload products! :)

I see you caught me before I edited the post :D Incorrectly wrote happiness instead of health. I noticed there are no herbs, and they increase health, not happiness, as I originally wrote.

Suppose health is also low due to less variation in their diet? No meat have some drawbacks in the game I suppose.

Edit: Speaking of herbs... I just made myself another cup of herb tea :p

ah ok ..
the fault of poor health is that I found myself with 4 seeds and a huge population!
for lack of workers have moved all of mines / quarries but its wood products are regularly purchased by merchants in place of firewood.
when I was 12/16 seeds I had no such problems!

Hmm, that's unfortunate. Do all types of products go in there then, meat, wheat, fish, tools, clothes, anything? There are at least some general flags that can be set, barns and stockpiles take different good for instance, and maybe it's possible to set more individual flags too. Hard to know for sure really.

unfortunately I do not understand anything of mod ...
and he does not seem willing to accept help ..
citizens stockpiling of products in crops and orchards in the vicinity ..
I found myself with 400 plums in during a harvest ..

Hmm... Looking at some of the game's default files, it looks like it can be at least partially solved by using a flag for Grain. Still means they'll stuff loads of corn in there, but at least they shouldn't put fish and plums and whatnot in there.

I tried to use your apiary balanced but crashed the saved game and you yourself told me that I should wait for a new game to use it !!
me, however, are self-balancing leaving to work on only one beekeper!

no milk and dairy in my village!! I probably will use this mod for my future village .. "Los Omnivoros"  ;D

I can not find the time to turn on my PC!

so little time to play and so many ideas to develop...
- Mod for resized professionist list
- Balance the amount of logs for each forester so as to have the majority near the smiths
- Build markarts to store log near the blacksmith
- Build farm stand to store food near the houses of the miners and workers in the forest
- Put a fountain, various wooden fences and stone, fountains, water towers, monuments
- Layout for crops of cotton, flax, sugar cane and jute
- Layout of the tannery
- Build a sawmill
- Build Medium stone house
- Maybe build a stone gatherer shop and an iron gatherer gatherer shop
- Build a distillery

as I said ..   how much work still to do and so little time to do it!

ok .. I am at a crossroads!
this is what happened to me last night after that day I was hoping to play !!
I downloaded the mods from the workshop of Steam that have gone on to replace .pkm that I had added a consideration .sub (?) and were added to those that had not ..
result .. I open "New Veganville" and crash!
version, for example, "sample apiary" I had in my saved game is not to Steam !!
same thing happens with fig and lettuce ..
and now ??
in theory, if I understand something, I should delete .pkm and .sub created by Steam and re-download those same mod from Banishedinfo .. and I should be able to continue playing .. waiting for the end of the beta and the stabilization of mod ..
or drastically abandon the project and start over with a new "New Veganville" ..
maybe even with a new map ...
and so I could use all those mods that require a "new game" mod as textiles, decorative pack, rebalance apiary etc. ..
drastic choice ...
because I still had a lot of ideas for that map !!!

as you do with the new mod? continuously created new cities every great new mod coming out ??

OK! I'm almost ready to re-start with a new map!
I'm just waiting for a conclusion to the mods "larger" requiring a new game! "fountain mod" above ..
map choice at 99% is this ..
ample space for crops / orchards / city in the top and in the center, the space left for the woods / sawmill / trade post, corner space at the bottom for the textile and in the corner, near the ponds, mine / quarry!
I forget something?  ;D

That's some meticulous planning! Kind of looks like the blades of a windmill, which would be fitting in a vegan village. Was that intended?

Unfortunately, I realized that the map n. 8 does not have enough space in the center for this schedule ..
are looking for a larger map flat in the center ..
or should I try to replace the warehouse with the root cellar scavanto the small mountain that is right in the center and that ruins all my plans!

Map choice is too mountainous to the center for my project!
I need 130x130 square!
those two small mountains near the lakes .... ruin everything !!!  >:(
I could use the flatten mod on one of the two ....  ::)

tx!
with my first village worked ..
I had begun almost at random .. and I risked more times the catastrophe !!
I then informed about the maximum size a pr crop / orchard for a farmer, covered all paths that were workers and reorganized everything and in the end everything was perfect!
production was at the highest level .. until I started playing with mods, upload, delete, etc. and saves could not be charged in crash continually going!
For this reason I re-start!

OK! after many tests, I chose ..  ;D
the small map winner is ... no. 175 !!
perfect to make my project 130x130 square!
I just to flat a small hill in the center ..
in the south / west forests, sawmill, woodcuter ..
in the south / east mining, quarrying and blacksmith ..
if it is large enough, one trading post on the island and the other near the lake to the south / east ..
I'm so excited !!
