Medium wood house for 6 persons.
A little warmer than a wooden house.
@kid1293 This set really looks great. I just happen to have a lot of stone just lying around on the currant map so I'm just going to have to give these a try right away. Thank you for another great set.
Thank you very much
@kid1293 this means a lot to me. Late now but hopefully get some gaming in this weekend and will be able to build up a little settlement :) Thank you again. :)
@kid1293 the stone houses are very nice, look great. I tried to build the town hall but game froze up both during building and when complete. My guess is because of new 1.0.7 limits, my game still 1.0.6. Other than that, so far so good. :)
Calling in 'advisors' !!!
Can anything be added to this mod?
I know school/blacksmith/tailor/baker/market and all that.
I like the style of the buildings and it can maybe stand alone
and not only be an addon.
Well, I have tested to add some ivy texture to the chapel walls.
Opinions?
Looks great to me.
Looks good to me too. :) The ivy is part of the texture not a separate deco piece, right? Lighter green wouldn't look as good in winter, this is nice older weathered look to it. The wall is new, is that cemetery only or a separate deco wall also? That texture would look good on a 2 story tower house or lighthouse maybe.
The ivy is tweaked into place on every piece so it will not be separate.
The wall will be cemetery and separate pieces.
Not ghosted though, a wall is a wall.
I like towers. :)
Maybe a few of the separate piece walls could be crumbling old broken stone wall pieces. :-\

Maybe a few of the separate piece walls could be crumbling old broken stone wall pieces. :-\
:D I wish, I wish but I thought that if I release this people are going to want ghosted walls.
So, in my solitary eagerness, I made with/without ivy and ghosted with/without ivy.
With crumbling walls there would be even more. I don't want this mod to be -
That WallI'm still puzzling the code for ghosted wall together.
But I thank you,
@Abandoned ,for caring. :)
If anything I would like a tower, but I'm a long way off from starting that.
And I don't know what to do with it.
With or without ivy sounds good. Maybe a few ghosted deco tombstones. I hope the ghosting wall is going well, you don't sound like you are in a happy mood.
Had a terrible night. Shift-delete on a whole group of files.
When I tried to recreate I should copy and edit.
Accidently I moved a bunch of files and edited.
It wasn't until I should compile I found out that many files
were missing. So back to more editing.
It's working for now but I am not happy with the direction of it all.
I have - cemetery/ivy cemetery/fenceless cemetery.
Freestanding fence/ivy fence/ghosted fence/ghosted ivy fence.
All because I wanted to learn how to make a cemetery.
And the model is not very funny. ;D One can only laugh.
I made a school building. When finished I found out that it looked
almost like the chapel. What a bummer! All that work.
I think it will not make it into stand-alone. It is a disaster zone for
mutated buildings. :) So it will always be an addon.
it can happends, Kid :'( in can happends
@kid1293 the stone houses are very nice, look great. You surprised me there is also a spa. Thanks a lot. Chapel +chapel walls -Looks good to me too. With or without ivy is also nice. If the chapel - cross to the roof or the small bell towers will be fine. The school and the chapel will be different . Do not worry too much is Ok :D
Thanks!
...and
@taniu , a small bell tower on the chapel is great.
It will take my mind away from the cemetery for a while.
Yeah, that is what I do.
I work on some more stuff then just one at the same time so I can switch between them a bit if I get bored/frustrated with the current one.
It can be a sore to keep working on the same stuff over and over.

It can be a sore to keep working on the same stuff over and over.
Specially if you
have to work it over and over. :)
Here is the idea from
@taniu I think it works very well.
Now I will put a f-key variant of school with ivy.
Edit --- school is done.
@ kid1293 . Ok. :) Cool screenshots . Or maybe a cross ? I send some photos of wooden churches, maybe something to choose from for your idea?- "Forest Outpost ", "Rowhouses", "Colonial","HouseBoat" - wonderful mods, I often play with them.
Thank you, I am very happy that they are wonderful homes, a small chapel, a sauna, and many wonderful extras . . Cheers :D
@kid1293 wishing you a better day today than yesterday :) the chapel bell tower looks great and the matching school is a great addition.
@kid1293 any progress? Sorry couldn't test, with 106
@Abandoned - Sorry for closing my doors.
I told you I like towers. Shhh, don't tell. It's a secret. 8)
And yes, I feel much better. Some sleep and good food.
Are going for a walk now, will continue modding this afternoon.
:)
@kid1293 keeping secret, glad you are feeling better, talk to you later.
Had a run of extreme luck, smooth and problemfree modding.
I can share the secret with you. I decided to do something with
Ghost House technology I was testing in another thread. (I like that name) ;D
And I do like towers. :)
That 6-storey building in the background consists of 6 separate apartments.
Only the bottom floor has a footprint. The rest are ghosted.
Later I will AO-map the 'towers' and test some more.
oh my gosh
@kid1293 look at those towers and for more than 1 family, fantastic and I see 3 textures that really blend in so well with the other buildings. :) good job
And the textures look even better now.
Some people don't know what I mean with AO-mapping.
Ambient Occlusion. A kind of shadowing.
Take a look at the example. You can clearly see the difference in the textures on the towers.
With AO they are more distinct and 'present'.
@kid1293 I can see there is clearly a difference with the AO mapping, very nice :)
Nice looking apartment blocks. With the church in the picture as height comparison it looks they are almost the same height as Red's 3-story houses.
Which one of them. ;)
They come in all sizes. You build as high as you want.
Well, not really, I have only made 6 floors. But I can easily expand.
I see it as a test if I can build like this. It works without problems.
The bannies on the upper floors use the bottom door and the builders
stand on ground, but inside the bottom floor, when they build upper floors.
Each floor has a flat top version for building more and they also have
one roof version to stop if you want. Each has a demolish-button.
All comes with 3 textures, from other buildings in the mod.
You can use the bottom floor alone (with roof) and don't build upwards.
They are rather handy when you need to squeeze in a lot of people.
6 persons on each floor - 6 floors - 5x4 footprint.
The view must be nice from the upper floor balconies :)
Really nice view
@Abandoned !
:) oh that is just too cool
Loving those towers Kid! Nice work.
Thanks!
I will work now and then on them.
My plan is to add Smith, Tailor, Baker and Butcher as bottom floor buildings.
Then it's easy to add just another floor and have living place upstairs.
That will fit a smaller town.
Or add several floors to get a real city skyline. :)
Sounds like a good plan :)
If you knew me 15-20 years ago, you would have said - Don't you ever plan for anything?
That's all changed. Must be the Age of Maturity. ;D
Well, here's a quick build of the smith. To the left ready to be expanded upwards and
to the right the ground only version. I maybe put some crates in or something.
ya, that must be it :) The blacksmith level looks really good and the wood texture with that stone and roof is very nice.
@Abandoned Looks like a two-way-only communication. :)
People don't like 'ghost houses'?
I don't mind. It's calm and quiet.

hey ! we all follow ! cant wait to see another Graphic Overlap Technology ™ housing :)
Hehe.. just when I thought I could relax. ;)
@kid1293 okay for

@kid1293 okay for @RedKetchup to join us where it's peaceful as can be "Up on the Roof" the Drifters 1964 :)
I guess there is a lot of room and a lot of fresh air on the roof.
Very happy/glad tune, no?
A nice escape from the daily treadmill. :)
The wheels keep turning.
Here is the tailor in two versions.
It produces vanilla and linen clothes.
I feel I'm running out of steam on this one.
I have no ideas for baker and butcher. Maybe I reuse the tailor model and
put something else in front...
Nothing wrong with that Kid.
Lots of houses/buildings were build the same way, with the same materials, same layout, and still are today.
I know, just look at my rowhouses. :)
But I feel a bit down since I really need a second model to make another tower.
Now everything multiplies. with/without roof on every floor, different textures and all build stages.
It is growing so rapidly I don't think I want to make another tower.
I go slowly with the baker and the building is almost the same as tailor but I still
have to make it from scratch. Started to UV-map just a moment ago.
I can leave it with the restriction to build only one. That would take care of repetition. :D
@kid1293 the tailor looks good , baker might be a bit tricky with oven but I'm sure you will work it out. Don't feel down about it, there is no rush or deadline. Take a break up on the roof balcony :) it is a happy song. Have a good day.
I have decided to pull long pipes, through the building,
from the baker to the chimney. :)
Just kidding, but who knows what the bannies come up with?
Some sort of central heating. ;D
:) central heating, there's a good thought, plus the smell of fresh bakery, nice. However, need all those upper levels between roof balcony and noisy blacksmith.
After some setbacks with the code I have a working baker.
Now it is getting late and I want a whisky. :)
Night.
edit - I have prefixed everything in the new buildings with 'Tower'
I don't know what to call them. It was my first plan. To build a tower.
Maybe I figure out something better.
tower baker looks good, goodnight
@kid1293
Looks nice!
And so...
Butcher done.
@kid1293 more progress made, looks good. Does the string of sausages mean venison sausages?
Venison, Lamb and Beef Sausages.
Can you think of anything else to build? (not a long list) :)
I have a couple of ideas but I don't know if you would want make it or add it to this set but I would rather PM the thoughts to you. Okay?
Added thought for this mod, maybe a lower level storage unit with crates or a cart.
@Abandoned - OK to PM.
Storage... For a while I thought of adding a ghosted underground storage.
But... where do you click to remove it? ???
I had a late night thought about building a big market mall with place on the roof
for several towers. Also scrapped - too modern.
@kid1293 what about a separate lean-to storage unit to add to the side? Rooftop market too modern and too unpeaceful :( maybe a rooftop unit with a bigger balcony, a wood bench and a green plant or 2? Maybe still too modern.
'Up on the roof' ? ;)
That one can be done, but since I have 6 floors it has to be 6 rooftops.
I'll let it sink in. But I can not make bannies walk there.
Well, I can, but I need the same space at the bottom for work and producing stuff.
oh, it can't be one rooftop fits all. Okay if they can't walk there, it might get too crowded. :)
@kid1293 The buildings are fantastic :) u remember about "Ginger Baker" and "Xmas Mark".I have a question if these mods - update? Can you add something for little kids? Candy - after my time I made in a frying pan simple candy = oil or butter + sugar or another simple dish "kogel - mogel" = eggs + sugar can add cocoa or lemon juice. I think for kids, maybe fruit juices or desserts such as Fruits , Smoothies. This is my only suggestion. What about this idea? To these fantastic buildings add a little candy shop? :)Cheers!
@taniu - You certainly push this idea with a lot of time 'til Christmas. :)
I'll see what I can do. I have another thing to do with that mod later.
@kid1293 I like the idea of a market (just a ground one) so that we can build all of the other buildings around it... kind of like a nice little mid-sized central market for bannies to shop and chat with their neighbours.
I think that would pull it all nicely together.
:)
@ancientmuse - I'll see what I can come up with for a market.
It's only fair to give it a chance. It's the central point in many towns.
On to-do list. I work like a stubborn ant. One thing at the time.
@kid1293 I agree with
@Paeng 's other thread regarding need for boarding houses. How about 2 story boarding house for this set?
Slowly going crazy.
Boarding house. OK, what floor? ;D
Quote from: kid1293 on June 18, 2017, 04:25:56 AMBoarding house. OK, what floor?
Ummm... the one with the fire escape... :D
I was going to ask how you can be going crazy already so early in the morning but not morning by you anymore, but don't go please ;D How about one floor boarding house to match town hall , then would only have to do 1 texture.
OK. To avoid overworking it, I can make a 2-storey ground floor boarding house. (With/without roof) :)
Should be easy. It's on that list I can't find. :)
Quote from: kid1293 on June 18, 2017, 04:25:56 AMBoarding house. OK, what floor?
Since you need another icon anway - why not multi-purpose?
Groundfloor - shop or tavern
first & (optional) second floor - boardinghouse(s)
3rd and up - more residences (if desired)...
:o
EDIT
Oops, I see you made up your mind already...
Just my thought, I went out on the balcony to get some air.
(btw - you can rotate upper floors to place balcony front or back.)
I realized that it is all about space. I can not hi-jack more space
from ground, so up one it is.
Should the boarding house have only two floors? It is not much.
I would say not more than 2 because if you build it way before you have enough stone for stone high-rises, it would look out of place with the rest of the set.
Quote from: Abandoned on June 18, 2017, 05:25:00 AMif you build it way before you have enough stone
Well, he's already planning with / without roof... so you can expand any time :)
Kid, how many peeps can you put into each floor (boarding house)?
I haven't come there yet.
I have an slightly exaggerated 6 persons on each floor.
So it's only natural to have 10-12 persons.
That's one reason I asked for more than two floors.
Idea:
(sorry for the ascii drawing)
xxx
xxx
xxx
zzzzzz
zzzzzz
Where z = a wider base building and x = tower
edit - But I can have a freestanding boarding house if I want.
I'm totally into making a roof-top chill-out zone after Abandoned's idea.
Then I have some signs I should have done now.
Something with storage and making a nice hedge.
As I was reading through this post I noticed that you were talking about everything multiplying as you ad new floor types or buildings to your tower buildings. Instead of having each new type with two versions, one with roof and one without (for building upwards) why not make each new type without a rood and then ad a separate roof type that could be added to any building floor. Then you could have F key variants of the roofs creating different visual renditions of the same building.
Sorry
@Kristahfer I can not do that. I need a chimney with smoke.
That must be attached to a residential home.
I have thought about it.
To be honest, I need a roof in 6 different heights too. Can not be changed in-game.
Add another texture and it multiplies.
@kid1293 nice up there on the roof but knew you'd have to come down sometime. How is it going with the towers?
Condos for rentI guess I am walking into a dead end here. Condos does not fit Banished.
But it is all about having fun. And yes
@Abandoned it is moving forward.
This is what I have been doing lately. The one to the right (on 5th floor) is reserved for
Mr. Red Ketchup. He said he was interested in a calm place in the shade. :)
Jokes aside (or maybe not) - I was very taken by the post by
@Abandoned .
Up on the roofso I decided to make a spot for the bannies to relax. They deserve it.
Now back to solve the problem of getting many nomads into a small space.
I agree Kid that it is all about having fun.
Nobody have to download and play our mods if they believe it is not their thing.
I am pretty sure enough players going to pick your mod up to play it :)
oh my gosh
@kid1293 thank you for the up on the roof spot and with sunflowers, absolutely love it :)
Another good song "A Place in the Sun" by Stevie Wonder.
Maybe I have to rename Stone House Addon to Vacation Homes ;D
or roof top rooms with a view ;D Getting up from blue lounge chair and waving to Mr
@RedKetchup over on the other roof.
Maybe I should design the Empire State Building.
So if I stand on THAT roof I can wave down to all of you :)
not if it blocks the view or lights up at night :)
One scary thought is that there is no limit to this technique. 12 floors - sure...
Too many stair to climb, scary indeed to look over the side. :o
hmmmmmm no height limits??? that could be used and exploited.a huge mountain to go on the map corners.snow capped, trees for a 1/4 way down the hill.flat plateus with fields of crops and barns for storage,a nice tall waterfall, several bear caves, add some nice houses and we have a city in itself.lol

Absolutely... I mean I'd be hard put to build those into a medieval or colonial scene... :D ... but hey, mix that with the mission, mex fantasy and other choice pieces, and you could come up with a cool contemporary setting, maybe a mediterranian fishing village or such - thankfully without cars, too... LOL
Always good for a vacation from harsh survival... ;)
EDIT
Look, I already had "strange" ideas with very early CC versions... :D
Or just one of them 6 floors high in the middle of nowhere.
Good for a laugh. We all need that. ;)
Right now I have f-key variants of those roof-tops.
No change in deco
but the edges matches the houses. A lot of wasted space/polygons and work
for only that. I will change that. So there will be only one roof-top to each floor.
This mod is growing larger so every saved resource is a plus.
@Paeng , I'm going for a two-storey ground floor building with an annex
to increase the limit. It will be 'standard' tower model with two versions.
With/without roof. Let's say 10-12 in tower plus another 8 in annex.
That could easily be (with a shoehorn) 20 nomads - 5 families of 4.
Is this reasonable?
edit - and
@Paeng , did that crop field in the background belong to the city designer? ;D ;D
I don't think a market should be built on ground floor of a tower.
So some kind of freestanding market/shop.
Then, maybe, I can go back and test hedges.
But first listen to the sounds of the night.
I hope you all have it nice out there. :)
@kid1293 plan for boarding house and market sounds good. Only thing at night as pretty as the stars are fireflies by the hedges and wildflower areas, do you have lightning bugs in Sweden? Have a good night. :)
Lifestyles of the rich and famous...
*reaches for the coconut oil*
;D
@ kid1293 I know you are a very hardworking and talented person, it was just my idea, children love sweets not only in winter, but they eat all year long? Maybe a little market for our little bannised? I'll wait, do everything your pace. I am very happy with every new mods from you, because I have them all in the game. Cheers!
I can confess, I belonged to those who thought;"Now he's gone totally crazy . These towers in Banished? No! At least not for me." But I must also confess, the result has turned out well. :) And maybe I will try to make a more contemporary settlement. Why not? Diversity is great! The possibilities unlimited. But if you make markets and boarding houses, please stay in the present (or at least recent past) and make an hotel and a supermarket. :) That would fit!
And
@Abandoned, lightning bugs do exist here but are very rare. I've only seen some a few times in Sweden. Kid lives very much in the south and they might be more common there. It's closer to the continent and as I lived in Germany we regularly had some in our hedge.
@Nilla I was afraid no one would know what I was talking about. When I was a child we had lightning bugs in the city but with pollution and chemicals and lights they died out. But we have them again here in the country for a few months in summer and they are just magical. At dusk they rise up from the natural areas and hedgerows twinkling like mini Christmas lights. Any day now the crickets should start chirping. :)
Quote from: kid1293 on June 19, 2017, 02:46:52 PMdid that crop field in the background belong to the city designer?

First - I never thought I could win anyone over for these 'Aventuras en el sol'.
They are a bit strange in Banished. But then we all start as gatherers and hunters.
Then CC with (almost) industrial revolution. So why not this?
After all it is a test if it's possible to build like this.
There is a problem with double-click. You never know when it happens.
There is no footprint so you can place hundreds of these ghosted floors
at the same spot. A bit crowded.
And you can not place them alone. They're totally invisible to the bannies.
They walk right through the buildings if placed on ground level.
Second - I go for hostel, but when I first saw the roof-tops I immediately thought 'hotel'.
Supermarket does not sound right. Everybody knows what a supermarket is today.
It is BIG. I don't think I can do that. 12x12 with a tower in each corner?
Not nice to have the neighbour looking over your shoulder all the time. :(
@kid1293 hotel would go well with this part of the set but maybe not so well with the original stone houses of this set and not with forest outpost this is addon to which has no boarding house either. Vanilla doesn't go at all.
How about farmer's market?
Bazaar? Shopping Center? Merchant District?
Hmm... Merchant Center. Why not?
Merchant Center sounds right, matching roof or open-air?

I was about to make a 'tower' version. Bottom large building.
One version with roof and one with a flat space to build up a tower or two.
But I'm slowly getting tired of making tower modules.
2 versions sounds good, player pick and choose which to use. You've certainly made a lot of tower modules. :)
Yes. :)
And here is another one. The hostel.
This one is with roof. There is one without roof if you want to build higher.
This freestanding is rather nice.
I don't want more of this model. I go for an open market later, tomorrow, summer....

haha of course !!!!!! :)
@kid1293 the freestanding hostel is very nice indeed and will fit nice with the whole set and even with the vanilla buildings early on. :)
Thanks!
I take a break from buildings and concentrate on making a hedge. Not easy.
It can't be 20000 leaves. :o It can't be all 'box' and square. ???
I will test a thought I have. Testing is slow.
Must build and write code just to test a single piece.
Be well.
The hedge sounds like it might be a pain to make, maybe too much for this mod that already had nice walls with and without ivy.
Have a good day :)
@kid1293 I once looked at Cossacks Mod at the Hedges part he had in it. (Fountain Mod)
The hedges are just a bent plain upside down U shape for the straight connect pieces. End pieces are at one side closed with a plain or both side closed if by it self. Then the texture is just a bunch of small leaves on a semi transparent texture.
You could just start with a box, delete the bottom, and chamfer the top sides so it becomes rounded just a bit to not make it look to blocky at top.
But you can also leave it square for nice trimmed hedges.
Add the semi transparent texture and that's it. For connector pieces just delete the two sides of the box, For end piece just delete one side of the box and so on.
They look pretty good for being low poly.
Thanks.
I have to make end sides on all so I can have them both as freestanding
and on the cemetery. I have no separate endpiece.
Actually, I have been modelling and texturing all day (and I wanted a break) ;)
I am trying a new approach. Three layers of 'boxes' with a random seed applied.
They become a little irregular and (I hope) the layers under will show through.
If this does not work I will try to smooth them into shape. And I can always try
different textures to see if density and size matters. Three layers and several
shapes means a lot to texture and later a lot to code. I'm persistent!
"I want a shrubbery!" / Monty Python - Knights who say "Ni!"
Shrubbery!
wow, very nice :)
Thanks. :)
edit -
@Abandoned , I am late as usual. I promised signs but got sidetracked by the hedges.
Here are 4 signs for the business towers. Clean and simple.
edit2 - No, the scissors are not for your hairdresser. :D
@kid1293 those look great, picture better than words, even the scissors :) Nice wood tone too. Hedges great, didn't mind the wait.
Thanks again!
Your word keeps me going.
One positive voice kills all the opposition. :)
I wouldn't call it opposition, more a silence, but...
Anyway, this mod is a hodgepodge of ideas and I like it that way.
There are opportunities to add a part of town built with these
buildings and you can use different parts as 'addons' if you want.
Some have asked for a market and I know I said yes.
...I think I have done enough for now.
Use any small market parts and build a wall and add storage... you know.
I will test some more. Tomorrow (checking clock) ...today is holiday here
so that means a lot of free time to doublecheck and maybe release.
For now, live long and prosper. (always wanted to say that) :)
:o, they look kinda like insulae. god, i miss playing Caesar
@kid1293 my words of encouragement are always rewarded with another great mod so thank you. :) I don't think anyone would mind waiting a day or two longer for a simple matching market if you decide to still add it, understandable if you've had enough towering for now. You added on a lot of pieces to this addon, very nice. Your persistence is appreciated.
Love the up on the roof roof :)
@kid1293 :)All the ideas put into the game are great. I like all the mods . Thank you for the new mods are great, I can not wait,. You are a wonderful man and very creative . Cheers! :D

Well, isn't that a nice looking market in the shade of that big old tree. Very nice :)
And so finally - an update!
Version 1.1 is uploaded and you are welcome!
http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=279 (http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=279)
Came together nicely in the end ;)
Yes, a sort deja-vue or potpourri of things from other parts.
Glad I did not make a 'supermarket'!!!
the wait is over, already downloaded it. thank you very much
@kid1293 Have another cup of coffee, we want shrubbery! LOL ;D
Nice, I will have dinner first and then look for a shrubbery. ;D
I don't think that way of doing leaves matches anything but a hedge.
But you never know.
Taniu was so nice and asked for candy for the christmas mod.
I think I will do a small spice gatherer so you don't have to wait
for the seeds. Maybe candy too. But I don't like to spam the game
with products.
@kid1293 well, you know, tomorrow is the June 25th so that means only 6 months till Christmas. Taniu's idea of a candy shop for Christmas is a good one, candy canes would be nice, peppermint spice. A few more products wouldn't hurt and don't have to wait as long for seeds now with alotofseed trader. What about a spice garden with assorted spices. I'm guessing there won't be any chocolate covered marshmallows santas.
Spice garden is what I was thinking. Then I can skip the seeds completely.
There is no other use for spices. Except for some butterscotch if you want. (had to Google it)
So, some sort of candy made from 'sugar and spice'. ( no music comment? )
The Ginger Bread Baker can make candy.
What is "chocolate covered marshmallows santas" ?
Does not sound like a combination I want to eat...
Say it isn't so, no chocolate covered marshmallow Santas in Sweden? No chocolate covered marshmallow Easter Bunnies either? :o They are delicious marshmallow in santa or bunny shape covered with a thin coating of chocolate. What about peeps? I just had my last Easter bunny peep floating in my coffee cup this morning.
I think Bannies need a separate candy shop because baker has to make cookies.
How did you know I'd have a musical comment in mind?
QuoteSay it isn't so, no chocolate covered marshmallow Santas in Sweden?
Nope, not that I know of and I like sweet things.
Send me a box and I can get my own opinion. :)
Separate candy store?
I have all of six months until christmas to make it nice. ;)
Music. We're talking and music is a universal language. It's easy to express oneself
by dropping a few lines from a song. Then both know.
like this - "I get by with a little help from my friends" Beatles 67
A happy song that sends a positive feeling to the receiver. You know all is well
and life goes on.
okay, one box of marshmallow santas on
@kid1293 's Christmas wish list. :)
@kid1293 :) thank you very much : )Do not skip "Spicers", I like how they grow in the garden, it is not a problem waiting for the trader , - "Spicers" in "Ginger Bread" and "Plum Cake". You are wonderful. Cheers! :D
Ok,
@taniu I keep the spices seeds so you can grow them.
I will also try a small gatherer who plants and harvest spices.
This way you can have a small production from the beginning
while waiting for the trader.
@kid1293 those spices would also go well with a rum distillery making spiced rum for pirates :D yo ho ho
@kid1293 I'm way late to this, but I was away from the game when you released this and just had a chance to give it a play. Super fun set! Thank you! It's fantastic.
Posting some screens. Didn't leave enough space to decorate much as I was mostly getting a feel for it, but thought it turned out rather lovely. Bunch of your other mods included, of course. :)
Thanks again!
wow i love it :)
Did you work your bannies to death building those houses? ;)
I see the cemetery is almost full.
Thanks for sharing!
Another fabulous set from you, Kid (http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=profile;u=2582), that I recently discovered! The small stone houses are super cute! I was wondering if the roofs to the church and school are supposed to be white only, differing from the roofs from the other buildings in the set. Personally, I would like them to be the same as the others. It was making my townies think the snow never melts off the church and school roofs.
With so many different mod sets I have found that I love, that all don't go together in the same neighborhood, I need to make different "mini towns" on the same map so I can use them all!
Yes
All us modders have our own design and creativity ideas.
We try to stay as compatible as possible with the resources but the design and creative aspects are our own.
The good thing about it is that there is so much diversity.
There is always something to find what they like for about every player.
Creating mini towns is a good way to use a lot of mods and several area's blend together quite well.
brads is doing this currently in his blog.
Some players choose only several mods for the map they plan to play what they think goes to together close enough.
Then for a next map they choose some other mods.
I still wish that Kid would one day make the school and church not all white but in the same color palette as the homes. I love that salmon almost pinkish tone. And also, I wish he would make a matching house with a footprint a bit larger than the cute tiny house, but smaller than the tower house/business stackable building. Or, maybe another modder would make something on the scale of the cute mini house, but a bit larger in that same color palette. I wish I could mod.

Hi Granny!
If I do the school and chapel in the same palette they will look like any other house.
But I agree on the roof. It does not have to be white. But do we want all roofs the same?
I want to keep the walls. They sort of signal that this is a different building.
And I like them! That's all only minor changes.
The problem is that I am now trying to mod something entirely different.
I can put that on hold and go for a 'middle' sized house. 4x4 plus road should be fine.
No angled variants. Maybe the mod gets big. I don't know.
I'll let you know what I will do.
Oh yes, I agree, Kid, that if the school and church matched totally to the cute little houses, then the school and church would look like just any other house. But, they do need in a bit of color in my opinion. I think the roof colors of all those buildings being the same color is fine. Or maybe that tannish color that is used on the borders of the salmonish color roofs and window frames.
A 4x4 middle sized house would be great. Angled variants aren't needed. I have scarcely used any angled buildings- just small sheds or maybe a very small house.
I love this set so am thrilled that you are considering doing just a bit more with it! I appreciate your thinking to put your other project on hold for a bit.
@kid1293 just a thought regarding church and school roof color, what about f-variants, 1- keeping the original but adding 2- a set matching color and a 3rd choice the dark green color of the ivy. I think that would look nice as well as retaining the uniqueness. Hi
@galensgranny :)
I already have f-key variant. With/without ivy.
I guess the simple solution is to give school and church same roof as other houses
while keeping the woodedge and walls.
Green roof? That's a new one. :)
Sounds, good, Kid- giving the church and school the same roof as the other houses. :) I'm working on a village now with the other items in the set and waiting for my bannies to get some education and religion (in color coordinated buildings, of course.)
I am having an interesting time arranging the tower pieces to make a large apartment complex over embx1's Material's Store and your bottom level smith from this set. Of course I selected one of your stone textures that coordinated with embx1's material's store. It's great that the upper levels of the stone towers can be smooshed together one partly inside the other And that decorative trim that is included in the set really makes it all better.
Hello, Abandoned (http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=profile;u=6047). So you like green. Green roofs are fine in general but unless there were other available buildings in the same color scheme, just that school with a green roof would be kind of an odd building out. Unless there were other items that matched in some way.
oh oh,
@galensgranny , you will get me in trouble with Kid if we suggested more matching green buildings. :) The green roof would match the ivy on the walls and cemetery and some shrubbery, nice for a separate area away from the houses.

Oh yes, that would be nice.
@galensgranny &
@Abandoned No green roof yet. :) Maybe, maybe...
But a new house and changed roof on chapel and school.
Wonderful, Kid (http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=profile;u=2582)! Eager to download.
Very nice indeed :) thank you Kid and thank you
@galensgranny for suggesting it. :)
I'm trying for another house before I upload.
Green roof? - - - Why? Is it better than white?
No, green not necessarily better than white, I just thought it would look good on the church to match the ivy, maybe even mossy looking but the matching roof you made looks very nice on the church and school so green one is not really needed. Maybe later for something else. :)
I like those-a green one would get lost among all the trees.
@galensgranny Sometimes it pays off to ask. :)
Here are the promised two medium stone houses.
New version in download. Enjoy! :)
White roofs can look nice if the building is darker. On my computer, the school and church with the white roofs and that color stone look washed out. On my computer, it doesn't look as good as in your screenshot in this thread.
For this set, for another color roof, maybe a dark gray would be good, like the dark gray/light black color on one of your mountain mansions.

Yay! Hooray! Thank you, thank you! This is wonderful. Off to download now and build!
:) Very nice new houses.
I have uploaded a fix for a serious error.
V1.21 has changed footprint on all tower floors.
They are no longer ghosted. The upper floors can be built on roadtiles that fits the ground floors.
This means you can no longer rotate upper floors to have balcony facing forward.
And, of course, since I changed the footprint you can not load this update in a saved game.
Great Thank You to
@traceyfields for finding this!
(now they burn as they should) :)
edit - I add a picture that shows it all.
http://worldofbanished.com/gallery/2582_30_08_17_1_57_16.png
I could love houses like that, but using wood only to build. Ya know wooden house. Might be possible?
@DesoPL - What shall I do with you? :D
This is STONE House Addon. They are not meant to be wood only!
I have to put this request on my 'to-do-list'.
I could make a WOOD House Addon :)
Wonder how it would feel like to live on 6th floor with just timber under. ;)
I am a weak man. :)
Look in download for V1.22 with wood houses.
I would rather keep the old version of the tower building where the upper levels can be rotated to change which direction the balcony faces. But, for people who have disasters on and like their buildings to burn, I guess this is good for them.
I love it being ghosted. I can do all sorts of creative things with building looks. I wish you would make more ghosted upper levels of different sizes and textures, Kid.
Oh, thanks Kid for adding a new look- wooden version. :)
I would also be interested in something like more roof color options for these buildings. I wonder if ghosted roof covers is something possible, maybe not for all the house shapes, but for some, such as the school and the little stone house, instead of making all new sets.
Hi
@galensgranny - It is actually easier to just copy model and change texture.
I won't do the roofs just yet.
I have a question for you - It was you who wanted me to update Workplaces?
I have been thinking and I don't remember where I read it.
I don't have full access to Necora's resources but EB's and RK's can be added.
I will continue to plan for it when I have the time!
:)
edit - I checked and it was
@adelegarland who wanted Workplaces.
@galensgranny - I listen and I think!
It was easy to solve the rotated upper towers, so I made an update (again) :)
The problem is, there is so much traffic I can't upload it now.
It will have to be some time later.
Thanks so much, Kid (http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=profile;u=2582), for making it so the upper levels can again be rotated. :) And so quickly! I am wishing the internet traffic to slow down so you can upload!

Guilty! It was me! Has Necora been around lately? I'm sure she would give you the info you need...
Here is a temporary solution. I still have problems with upload.
From my Google drive. Version 1.23 with more free placement of upper floors.
I have it uploaded on Nexus. https://www.nexusmods.com/banished/mods/62
@adelegarland - I have
seen Necora on forum but no posts. It's been a while now.
I have added RK's resources from Training Camp to Workplace mod.
I hope it works with CC's stand-alone Bison mod too!
After checking EB's resources I think I wait with them.
Maybe I take a look at CC's production to see if I can 'steal' anything. ;)
Thanks for the quick temporary download link, Kid!
@kid1293 here's a thought, would it be possible to leave Workplace mod with the houses and workplaces as it was, and make a separate mod with only the workplace pieces, anvil, etc, with the new resources add to those pieces only. Those who want the extras added can have them and the original too and those that don't want all those extra arriving at the trading post won't get them. Using the last version of the mod is fine if this is the final update, but if another update may follow, one would be forced to choose. :-\
Hmm...
You make me think deeper
@Abandoned ! :)
I, myself don't want those things in trade ports.
Maybe I should say my own meaning about this?
I have several times backed down and allowed new things which often
leads to compatibility problems. Forest Outpost with tany's wild things,
Colonial Houses experimenting with CC stuff and quite honestly I have
regretted them. Whenever one updates I have to update...
OK, OK, I would maybe not have bread if I hadn't used CC flour.
(but I can imagine the bannies being clever enough to grind their own flour...)
Being a grumpy old man who no longer knows how to play, I must say
I can partly understand people who want everything according to their
way of playing. But I had to do that for myself to get what I wanted.
Then the requests came. The rest is history.
I have recently found some time to play another game.
Banished is sort of lost to me. It will never be the same when I know
I can make a mod and change the rules.
To Abandoned - I don't want two of everything any more.
With cross/without crossBut, I listen to what you say. This time we agree on not touching a working Workplace.
...oh, I get sad bursting out like this.
@kid1293 don't be sad, you are the modder and certainly deserve to have your say on how you want your mods to be made. It is nice when we agree :) but I must disagree on being a grumpy old man. ;D
Most of the time you're not going to be able to accommodate everyone. As a modder myeslf for other games, I certainly can understand your frustration.
Kid, don't be sad. I've been a part of the Sims community since Sims1 and have seen too many modders quit because of demands. Set your standards and tell everyone "take it or leave it".
@
@kid1293 don't be sad, you are the modder :)You are a great talented person. I personally play a lot of your mods, I really like them, they are fantastic. I can only thank you for your hard work on mods I have great respect for you :) Regards and Cheers! :D :D :D
Kid (http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=profile;u=2582), I glad that you expressed how you feel about mods. Keep to your way of doing things.
I don't want too many mods with extra things not in the basic vanilla game, especially if they then require adding some full game altering mod to be able to use a particular building newly created. I like using your mods not only because they look good, but they are not complex things.
QuoteBanished is sort of lost to me. It will never be the same when I know
I can make a mod and change the rules.
That is too bad. I wish I could mod as then I would design all sorts of different houses. I care more about how my towns look than their functioning.
Thanks, all nice people!
It sure feels better when you accept my feelings as well as my mods.
In the end I am glad I can create so many of your ideas. It is a sign
of a living, breathing community when it's OK to share the troubles too. :)

Precisely that made me start modding!
It is not up to me to decide what the bannies do with their grain (or wool or anything)!
I am all for role-playing but it can be too complex and limiting if you don't watch out.
Now I just want to fix my upload problems and update Stone Houses.
Found time to play Banished, sad only is too long loading but for mods i can handle it. :'(
Hope i will say my impressions soon. ;) Thanks
@kid1293 and rest for your hard work. :)
Thanks
@DesoPL - I hope the wood houses are OK!
Thank you Kid for all you do
I must admit... This set is fun! I got lots of fun not only building wooden houses, but stone ones too! :)
:)
It is great when someone just drops by and say something positive.
Thanks
@DesoPL !
Yes Kidd, your beautiful deco shrubs are one of my favourites -- perhaps the best
I could love see wooden houses for rest of this set, but naah too much work. Still is very fun. :)
:) You would like that.
I say no. After all they are stone houses.
I feel like Bilbo Baggins. 'Stretched too thin'
I have a small break from modding right now.
you can take a break but please please don't forget us and do come back soon. it has not been a good year for that, there are several players and modders we miss already.
I hear you.
Sometimes I am so deep into modding I am already lost. ;) :D
I just don't want it to be a problem for me.
Better have a break and come back.
Well before you go on vacation I just want to thank you for the incredible work you have been doing. I have been lax in commenting lately, even when I have ideas, I hope to get more involved though. ( Just what you need, another person throwing ideas at you! ;D
I love your mods. Please don't stay away too long!
Kimbolton (http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=profile;u=566), he's back, and in "wanting to mod again" mode!! Apparently, Kid just needed one day of break- yahoo for us!! ;D I did get a little worried reading Kid's post yesterday when he said he was stretched too thin and needed a break. Would it be days, weeks, months even ??? ? But no, just a day! ;D
See here, we don't need to suffer withdrawal from Kid's mods --> http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?topic=2096.msg41819#msg41819
That's great.
Ha! He just can't leave us. :)
hey !!!
WELCOME BACK !!!
@Kimbolton :)
it is nice we all rely (relay??) us from time to time, allowing to take breaks / animate the boards each at our turns ^^
Yet another update.
Version 1.24 Added new menu items for Butcher and Tailor
http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=279
Bill the butcher died from eating too many spicy sausages :D
Kid, would you feel up to making dark gray roof alternatives for the houses, at least just the stand alone houses? I really need that for a village section I had been working on. And if it is not too much, would you add one more style of standalone house like one more from your Nordic Housing Mod? (The size of the houses in your Nordic Housing Mod are my favorite size.)
Hi.
It is too much work updating Stone House Addon right now.
I think it is large as it is...
OK. Hmm, what about making different wall options for the Nordic Houses, to be similar to the walls of this Stone House Addon? :)
I don't want to work with Nordic Houses. The texturing is from the beginning when I learned to mod.
I have changed method since then. But an update to Stone Houses can be reality in future.
Not now, I am sorry :(
