You could take this opportunity to include the tinyrowhouse mod.

kid1293

Hmm. Nilla said that too. And I will include it.

brads3

can this mod be made so we could use the old mod and new both?? as to the old city hall, can u change the setting so we could build more than 1 in a map?? i use the row CH as a central office in mine or production villages. like for a area manager or supervisor. but the game only allows me to have 1 of them.

kid1293

old and new?
It will be the the same houses, no need for doubles.
It's an update, I don't change the code that much.
But you will have to start a new game... because of new
textures.

And since you asked so nice, you will be able to build
as many town halls as you want. :)

I am maybe 1/6 into the work. Will see how long I can keep this up.

brads3

thx u KID. dont work too hard at it thou.

The town hall looks ridiculous.
I just tried to be different and with my limited knowledge
at the time, it came out that way.  :-[

Well your town hall certainly is different but that doesn't make it bad. :) You could always try something similar to the vanilla town hall - a largish building with a tower. Towers always look good and if it matches your row houses it's guaranteed to look great.  :)

QuotePlants will be gone, but what shall I put in front of the herbalist? Cabbage? :)
Maybe only a stretch of grass. We will see.

You don't have to put anything in front of the herbalist or any other building. You can decorate them if you want, but you could also leave it empty so people can decorate it themselves.

Another suggestion for you to consider: would it be possible to take those beautiful walls you made for the mission and re-texture them to match your row houses? That would be an excellent addition to an already great mod.  :)

Don't stress and don't rush. It's a game and it's supposed to be fun, and we all appreciate your wonderful mods.

Hi again. @Tom Sawyer - here is what I came up with for a Town Hall.
I kept to the small size of the other buildings and fixed the roof.

@brads3 - as you can see, there are already two and room for more. :)

Tom Sawyer

I found the attic of your town hall very nice. It was just a bit distorted after you have stretched the model. Actually the town hall should have windows upstairs. And it could have finished gables to be a stand alone building. Small is nice but a bit more representative than a normal house would be good to recognize it as a town hall. Just my feeling. :)

kid1293

Maybe later, Tom. I can understand what you mean but I will put it on hold.
If I keep the indentation and make a 'semi-two-story-roof' on the middle
it only needs left/right gables to stand alone? :) Funny sentence...

I'm in the middle somewhere of remapping and have made some progress
and found some troubles, but doesn't it always swing both ways?
I take a building at the time and it has to be that way, I will not rush things
now. I move at a steady pace and soon I will be halfway.

With blurry Banished graphic engine it will be the size that's different.
But I have really enhanced the texture mapping. (I showed you already)
I also removed some 'glitches' in the models/textures , now they are more
even from house to house.

I tested even higher resolution textures but I had to strain my eyes to see
any difference. From birds-view it's all the same.

Tom Sawyer

Yes, larger textures will only make the pkm bigger and bring no effect. I use a resolution of about 128 px / tile. Looks good and 1024 is enough for most buildings.

With finished gables I meant the roof and a few windows like your left and right end houses. But maybe you come in trouble with your combined office. :-\

kid1293

I went for a new town hall. Freestanding and matching the first one.
To all of you who like town halls. :)
And yes, you can build many.  ;)

Gatherer

There's never enough deco stuff!!!
Fiat panis.

Tom Sawyer

That looks good! 3 or 4 dormer windows on the front would be perfect. :)

You could make schools, hospitals, warehouses, taverns, inn/lodges and shops into corner buildings so they merge with the rowhouses.
