Chapter 8

More houses were built in the north valley, one at the end of hostel row and 2 mountain houses by the magic garden.  The hostel was empty.  A gatherer's workplace was built in the forest behind hostel row.

Another house was built by the first one east of the 3rd waterfall.  An herbalist workplace was built in the forest there.  A greenhouse was built by the compost bin and oat seeds that the last group of Elves brought with them were planted inside.  We Elves prefer to gather foods from the wild and from hedgerows and patches.  We'd rather grow crops year-round in greenhouses than in farm fields that destroy too many trees.  And of course there's always our magic gardens to conjure up fruits, vegetables, and nuts.  Our 3rd magic garden was built next to the crystal garden by the 3rd waterfall.

In later spring of year 6, 18 more Elves came through the portal but did not stay with us.  We seriously considered disabling the portal but hesitated for fear of where the next group to enter it would end up.  We weren't sure disabling the portal here would prevent others from entering it there.

Chapter 7

The Tree of Leaflets also has an inventory of our supplies.  Our food supply was very good except for a lack of grain; we only had a small amount of wild oats now-and-then.  We had plenty of venison and rabbit meat, and hazelnuts.  We had some apples, berries, and plums but could use more.  Although we had a nice variety of food, that variety was not getting to everyone.  The storage barn in the north valley had little food other than venison.  By spring of year 5, we had a marketplace built there by the school.

We could not believe it that more Elves came through the magic portal, 14 of them again, 9 adults and 5 children.  They said there was no indication back in Crystal Canyon that there was anything wrong with the portal.  There was concern that nothing has been heard from any of the others that left; no one returned and there was no vision or contact by crystal ball.  We welcomed the newcomers and were glad to have more workers.  We were glad to have the seeds they brought with them.

There was room in the hostel for all but one family.  A house was built for them east of the 3rd waterfall.  Our 2nd crystal garden was built there and there were plans to build a magic garden next to it to supply that area with more fruits and vegetables. By the stockpile we built a compost bin; we had a lot of extra vines that the magician in the Spell Tower didn't need.

More houses were being built in the north valley for those living in the hostel.  A magic garden was built next to the marketplace so that they were sure to get their fair share of wild oats, apples, berries, plums, mushrooms, roots, pecans, and walnuts.

Chapter 6

A mountain house was built in the north valley along with a small house and a tailor and smith.  There was a supply of down from the grouse the hunter was getting, also some furs; the small frock maker was not skilled in using those textiles.  The new tailor was now using the down and leather to make warm coats.

The new smith was making basic iron tools which left the Spell Tower in the main part of town free to make enchanted bows.  A small vine grower nearby was growing and cutting the vines needed for the new bows.  There would soon be a hunter in the Hunting Tower there.  A cemetery was built where the temporary shacks had been, and a marketplace was under construction.

A Tree of Leaflets was carved out to keep town records.   In early winter of year 4, Rainbow Falls had a population of 57, 34 adults, 12 students, and 11 young children.  The magic school in the main part of town was almost full; a new school with indoor classrooms was built in the north valley.  A tree fellow appeared alongside to watch over the children. Another house was built at the end of hostel row, the children would not have far to go to school. The hostel was now empty.  The hunting area was being preserved.

I've done it. I had a Adam n Eve setting, one of them got killed in summer. I kept the other one alive and working with mods, until nomads showed up. Not impossible.

I know one of the starting conditions just gives you two people and unless you had a mod that attracted nomads very early on in the game I don't think one person is going to be enough, I honestly can't see them surviving the first winter  :cold  by themselves

Chapter 5

The group of Elves decided they would like to settle in the clearing in the north valley on the other side of the tunnel.  We had no problem with that as long as they did not disturb the area that the reindeer and grouse frequented; it was a good hunting spot.  The hunter still had some enchanted arrows left but we had not been able to make more bows.  The spell tower was still making tools; our tool supply was growing slowly because of the shortage of wood.

The north valley was a good location to collect branches for firewood which saved a lot of logs.  Another Mother Tree was found in the far northwest valley but no forester was assigned there yet.  Two foresters were assigned to the other newly discovered Mother Tree in the southeast valley. We now had 4 foresters.

By late spring of year 3, a hostel was built, and a house on either side was started in the north valley.  A barn, stockpile, and then a small house was built close to the tunnel.  Building was slow due to the log shortage, but by early spring of year 4, all the temporary houses were demolished.  Houses were still needed for the families in the hostel.

There would have been no room in the hostel for the Elves that came through the magic portal that spring.  There were 11 of them; they decided not to stay but headed south when they learned they could not go back through the portal.

Chapter 4

In late spring of year 2, we were taken completely by surprise by the arrival of more Elves from Crystal Canyon. They were as surprised as we were to arrive here.  Apparently, the malfunctioning portal had not been fixed or disabled.  They had no idea there was a problem with the portal until they arrived here.  There was still no way of going back.  There were 14 of them, 9 adults with 5 children.  Three families had children, one family did not, and there was one young single female.  The couple without children soon had one, and the young single female paired-up with one of the town's young male who was still living at home.

Since we were short of logs and were in the process of building the last 2 needed homes for original residents, we built 5 make-shift shacks for the newcomers.  They were fine with that and got right to work gathering wild foods and branches.  We were out of coats and almost out of tools.

The magic garden was completed and producing gatherable foods when they arrived.  With more workers we had more builders, more fishing was being done as well as some hunting with the last of our enchanted bows and arrows we brought with us.  The bows are enchanted to be fast and accurate, and the arrows cause the animals no pain.  We were totally out of coats so an evergreen frock maker was built next to the crystal garden house.  The spell tower was completed but before it could make more Elven bow, it would conjure up some hardened tools, our tools were also completely gone.

The magic school was also built across from the storage barn, and it had 1 student.  Two mountain houses were completed and the last of our group of Elves moved into them.  A small barn and a stockpile were built nearby.  A Mother Tree was discovered in the valley just to the east, 2 foresters were assigned to cut and plant trees.

It was early winter of that 2nd year and the 2nd group of Elves were still in their make-shift shacks.

Chapter 3

It was late summer before a couple moved into the nice house with a porch that looked out on the 3rd waterfall pond.  They had one child living at home, a boy they named, Wernelio.  Their adult daughter with husband and child were waiting for a home of their own to be built.

Another mountain house was built by winter of that first year.  It was built into the mountain by the waterfall where the crystal garden was.  A magic garden would be across from their house and a spell tower would be next to that.  Now that we had crystals, we could build a magic school.  The couple's youngest daughter, Indi, would probably be the first student if we got it built in time.  The couple's oldest daughter, Maddie, was waiting for a house of her own to be built.  The amounts of logs, firewood, and stone were low.

Chapter 2

The first mountain house was built to the left of the storage barn for the children of two of the families; the children were only 11 and 12 years old when the house was completed.  When the snow melted, they discovered a small patch of hazelnuts, wild oats, mushrooms, asparagus, and branches by the rainbow's end in front of their house.   Everyone was surprised when the young couple had a baby girl together the following year.

Two more mountain houses were built to the right of the stockpile.  One of the families was that of the young mother.  They built a branch cart for firewood collecting.  We were struggling with both our firewood and food supplies.  There was a hedgerow in front of those two house that had hazelnuts, a plum tree, wild honey, and rabbits.  Our food supply would get a little more help.

Our nice house was built by the waterfall and rainbow.  There was a downed tree extending into the river that we used as a fishing tree although we could also catch fish from the waterfall ponds.  I was fishing until I went to help build the crystal garden by the waterfall across from us.  We needed crystals to build a magic school, to make and enchant hunting bows and arrows, to cast tool summoning spells, and to grow food in a magic garden.  Next to the crystal garden was another hedgerow patch with mushrooms, asparagus, and wild oats.   A third hedgerow patch, just like the others, was over by the third waterfall.
