Title: Been away for awhile, wanting to do a wild west vilage, not sure where to start
Post by: JD on April 20, 2020, 06:53:59 PM
Was playing, especially with RK's Editor Choice (which I just love), but eventually got bored and haven't played in quite awhile.

I was thinking of starting a new wild west village, but I have so many mods already and I don't know what's compatible anymore.

So, if I wanted to start with RK's mod, could someone point me to other compatible mods to download to create a wild west theme? There's so many strung all over the different sites, it's become very confusing.

Thanks in advance!

KID has tons. several wildwest mods on the download list. EB has some nice houses and leather chain as well for making saddles to sell.. don't forget KID's wagon ho mod.  most anything you find will work with the RKEC.  excception is the North mod by TOM. check out CC and the frontier add on for some Indians. adding trains? do you want to add DS train parts? these can be done but takes more tweaking. depends how extreme you want to go. there are a couple fort mods as well.

how do you want your wild bison to look? like the pasture bison or a more wild look? there is a way to change this back and forth.only issue i had with KID's mods and RKEc is honey working for all buildings. i fix this by moving the gothic farm mod above RKEC.

i've done a few western towns in my maps. check Guerner and Eltona in the village bogs.

As Brad said, Kid has many mods that go with a wild west theme.  They work along with RK EC.

There is Kid's Wild West Mod, at http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=260 (http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=260)

Kid's Westward Ho at http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=451 (http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=451)  (Note from Kid, "I can not guarantee it will function together with RK's mods for fodder/flower chain. You can try to put his mods above this mod in load order."

Westward Ho the Wagons at http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=450 (http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=450)  This is just the wagons and deco from the Westward Ho mod, but do NOT have both at the same time.

Kid Ghost Town http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=460 (http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=460)

If you only want the houses from the Ghost Town mod, http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=472 (http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=472)

Tom Sawyer has turf houses separate from his big "The North" mod.   They can do as the sod houses on the prairies during the US westward migration.  https://www.banishedventures.com/turfhouse/ (https://www.banishedventures.com/turfhouse/)

EB farm houses would go with a wild west theme, as Brad mentioned.  http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=275 (http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=275)

Necora has small log cabins  http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=363 (http://worldofbanished.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=363)

The CC Frontier separated from the massive Colonial Charter mod is at https://www.blackliquidsoftware.com/forum/Thread-CC-Frontier (https://www.blackliquidsoftware.com/forum/Thread-CC-Frontier)

she took all the fun out. you really should scroll thru both the 1.07 and older mod lists in download section.

You are welcome, JD.  Brad, it isn't fun for me to search through tons of mods when I want something specific and want to start playing a new game as soon as possible.  But yes, at some point is fun to search to find things one didn't know about.
