Title: Le Mas de provence
Post by: Savidan on July 27, 2017, 11:33:03 AM
Since last time the post about mountains house and greek/santa barbara provide ideas to kid, i'll try to provide more ideas of building style to our modders.

Closed to the santa barbare style and mexican style there is the Mas de Provence style. The "Mas" is a word that names all the set of buildings around an agricultural business in south of france and spain and you found a lot of them in Provence, yeah ! xD

Provence is a south-east region of france, closed to italy and mediterranée here -> (http://www.provence.guideweb.com/cartes/gifcarte/cartefrance.gif)

Usually the Mas was made with raw materials found on the farm soil. Basically wall were made with soil and lime and, since the soil is mostly red-orange it provide a unique color of buildings in this area.

but there is some Mas made with stones too: (https://www.cybevasion.fr/chambres/france/83/20928_373820_44.jpg)

Roof are mostly made with clay, you can find them in different colors, red-black-grey, pink or multicolor:

In Provence people cultivate mostly olive tree for oil you drink "rosée" and pastis  -> (https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-axvmDGDQfKo/VzWtmVhQ7GI/AAAAAAAACKE/B5C4NR7kBv4HWkAd-VGzSZerWStWEGz0QCLcB/s1600/couleurs%2Bros%25C3%25A9.jpg)

Nice pictures @Savidan , I like the abbey and that bridge. That looks like lavender plants, smells good and when dries it keeps away moths from clothes closets.  Thanks for posting  :)
