Hello everyone ! Finally my super Mod is ready to be released :)
This Mod package my old Dairy Milk Mod with an awesome addition: Creamery Dairy products.
First of all, you dont need anymore my Dairy Milk Mod anymore (everything it does are already included in this pack) so you need take it out and maybe move it elsewhere if a day in the future you want it back OR keep it
without loading it if it happends you have save games that used an old version of milk.
Any milk resource mod made by me or anyone else may be conflict with this MOD.
In game files modified : only LivestockCow.rsc
MOD: Creamery Dairy products - RedKetchup1. Milk. This MOD introduce Milk resource :
Pasture: Cattle provide Milk. Regulary, the cattle will provide milk buckets which will appear beneath the animal shelter of the pasture. They will be picked up by the citizens and put into your storage buildings.
This Mod still drop Beef and Leather when Cattle are slaughtered !
2. New Building. This MOD introduce a new building: Creamery (available in Food toolbar)
Creamery is a new building which allow you to craft new food ressources. This new 8x8 squares building costs : 52 wood, 18 stone and 6 iron to build and you need 2 builders to build it up.
3. New Profession. This MOD introduce a new profession: Dairyman
A dairyman is working at the creamery and his job is pickup milk and do dairy products with it. Although 1 dairyman is set by default, you can put up to 2 dairymen per creamery building.
4. New Dairy Products. This MOD introduce up to 3 new food resources :
Cheese :
With 12 milk units you can produce from 3 to 4 cheese units. A cheese unit is more pricely than ordinary food and worth 6 trade units to merchants.
Cream :
With 12 milk units you can produce from 4 to 6 cream units. A cream unit is more pricely than ordinary food and worth 4 trade units to merchants.
Yogurt :
With 12 milk units and 12 berries units you can produce from 12 to 18 yogurt units. A yogurt unit is more pricely than ordinary food and worth 3 trade units to merchants.
5. Interface. Like a tavern, the creamery building is working about the same way. You can choose from a drop box menu which product you want to make. Only 1 dairy product can be made at same time. If you want to change the product, you only have to open the drop box and select another dairy product and your dairymen will hurry to accomplish your desires.
WARNING: This MOD can maybe crash your game application if you load an old save game in which you used an old milk MOD even the one i made myself.

Added a fix about General Goods merchant boat crashing while arriving at a trading post causing an overflow with all these new resources.

Changed building skin, now compatible with Colorful Little House system. think to keep 2x4 tiles to the right if you are planing to add a 2nd floor residence ontop of the creamery.
changed skin and name of the cattle. now black and white and named Milky Cows.
tweaked some numbers: less milk, less beef, more cheese and more cream.
added 2 more options for yogurt: peach and cherry.

as i stated in the post, some weird things can happend if you try to load an old save game using already some milk addon, even my old one :(

I like this mod, fills a need, a great evolution of your milk mod, will be testing soon. One note my woman thinks you should have made butter one of your new foods.
hehe yeah :S but i was too scary to see a Citizen just eating 10 butter for dinner ^^
You could have added a new death in maybe to compensate for the butter.

some are reporting when merchant show up, game crash.
i ve saw that othen with mods... people getting this. i think they played too much with their game config and put fault on the mod :P
i ll try to learn more about those 'merchant show up and crash' thing :S
Yeah, I saw discussion on reddit about this issue. Seems to be tied in with the amount of new items that are added to traders inventory in the game. Too many, and crash, when the merchant shows up. A lot of people reported this about the Bakery/Mill mod but I never had a problem with it. The Bakery/Mill mod was the only one I was using that added new items.
i just posted a bugfix version. :)
if you downloaded it and installed it , you need to download the new version v 2.1 and override the older version :)
and everything will be fixed :)

Great to see a fix to that crash, it was the only issue in my test, everything worked well until that point, got cheese, it showed up in the general store, then the houses, and was eaten. Was testing yogurt, had just started production when I stopped, (the change of production in my single creamery was a little slow, because of the constant arrival of unrelated items, but that happens also with the windmill, stopping the work, and restarting seemed to help). I thought the crash was caused by the windmill mod. I was also able to buy cream from the food merchant, so that worked also. What I can say is that with many of the better mods installed, (did not use the 3 new products mod as I was testing something I saw in a post), this works fine. Will test the fix later. :D
Tried the fix over 15 game years with the windmill mod, no crashes, but no general merchant showed up, is that your fix? Also had some trouble changing to a new production in a building from the one it started with, could not get cheese going at all. Have one producing each of the products, but no cheese after several years.
no, general goods merchant still spawn as usual, but it has a such low spawn rate (i dunno if it s coded or just in my mind but i always found the spawn chance always been low. like 60% is the stupid seed merchant and the 40% left is all the others and the general good has like 0.0001% lol)

Creamery Dairy Products v 2.2 is up !
keep in mind, always better to remove old creamery in a saved game and rebuild a new one to be sure changes are applied to the creamery buildings.

@rkelly17 posted an older version of @TheChucklesStart new maps mod, which I downloaded. To my great joy the plains map in that version does not crash my game. Now I can hopefully find a map I like and get rolling!

Here is a spotted cowskin for your dairy cattle. I can't post a screenshot because for some reason F11 and F12 are not working for that in the toolkit. However, the cows do become white with black spots. The png file must be put into Models\Animals\Cow\MaterialInstance. The size of the png file must be exactly 1024 x 1024 or Banished will crash upon attempting to load a saved game using the new skin.

So, I'm curious about this mod. I haven't tried to use any mods yet, excpte for the (totally) irrelevant crop tweak. ;)
My question is, do markets try to stock the new products of this mod, the way the might stock beef or leather? Do the markets stock milk?

yes, milk, cheese , cream and yogurt :) they arent stockpiled into the creamery, they spawn on the ground inside or near the building, and they are picked up by laborers and put in barns/market. (milk spawns in cattle pasture shelters)
Ah, good; this is much better than having storage in the creamery.

Red, someone uploaded a copy of this mod to the Steam Workshop. You'll want to report that and get it taken down because it's a violation of Steam rules. I reported it myself but they always want to hear from the original mod author.

my creamery building just got a chirurgical lifting IMO but without botox ^^
it is the new look it will have: it will inherite my colorful little house technology :) and if someone want to make a 2nd floor for the dairyman's family..... it will be compatible :)

@RedKetchup that is so funny, last night I hovered your second floor little house on the old creamery, just to see how it looked! ;D I seriously considered building it, but it just didn't really look right. This is wonderful, though!

Gotta be honest here... I like the original better. It looks like a farm-like building, while the new version looks more like a house.
I like the new one better because we can have the dairyman family living above shop. Now I am dreaming of a whole series of shops with families living above.

I like the new one with the home on the shop too, the idea is great.
But I would like it even more if the downstair shop, had a bit different look, than the upstair-living-space . This creamery looks a bitt too much like the 2-store house.

i took out many windows which were same as 2nd floor, and i ve put also a sign post :) a cheese sign
i also put some part of the creamery build a bit longer like the left part , and the roof in front over the road
Better but i think it still looks a bit too much like a 2 stored house next to a small house.
Perhaps you could make the groundfloor just in wood. It will probably not look as nice as this version does, but it would be more different than just the houses.
you are obligated to build the 2nd floor :S
if i change the skin , that will be the 2nd floor that wont fit.
80% of all commercial building in the world are in fact, real houses turned into something so can can make business and get money :S
It is your mod. It must fit in your concept and the way you like it.
It is lovely, I will surely build it.
But as I said I like diversity. I like if the buildings look different. Not so much that they do not fit together but I like if they all look different.

The question is: Would your patented technology work to add second stories to Luke-designed buildings like the blacksmith or tailor or will it only work when you have introduced a new building into the game? Is it even possible to substitute a new graphic for a building that's already in the game?
You can substitute a new structure for a building already in the game, as an override. What you cannot do is repaint the existing buildings because we don't have the existing PNG files. :(

The override would have to include the "shape" as well as the "paint". I was lucky with the cowskin. You saw what happened with the LEGO houses.

we can build on old building. will it look good ?

not necessairly, probably no, wouldnt crash. but dont expect all old design magically change in the new one. you would need to destroy them and rebuild them (if of course you want them to look the new design)
do I would want to do it on most of the buildings ? not sure. people are never satisfied. i pass my days to try to please people and always one who is never happy. so it is frustrating to want to help, to make things for a game i dont even play at all since 2-3 months. :P

@RedKetchup. You are right. You can can please most of the people most of the time, but never all of the people all of the time. You must A) Please yourself and B) Please the majority and C) try not to let the few who don't like what you are doing annoy you. That being said, most of the people are only making suggestions which you can feel free to either ignore or implement if you like the idea. I have seen very few comments on any of your works that I would consider really negative. The one guy who simply could not understand how the boats work with your warehouse mod was one. I think he actually came back and apologized once he (or she) finally grasped what was going on. We appreciate you and the work you do, and I know most of us would be very sad if you stopped doing your really creative work.
Again I am sorry if I annoyed or was hurting you, with what I said about the look of the creamery.

Thanks for the new version, will try it right away, I like the idea of using similar building styles, it adds a kind of construction tradition, looks more natural, like it was built by the same carpenter, a bit like the housing projects of today. I like that you are adding your style, we can instantly recognize your work, a kind of visual signature. :)

I 100% respect the choices of @Red Ketchup, have proved quite successful so far. :)
Sometimes I have a slightly different opinion. Perhaps it would be better, not to say anything at all, in such a case. But I don't know. I act this way in real life, too. Sometimes it makes things a bit harder, but mostly it has proved to be the best way to handle life.
There are definitely times when I do not say "Oh God that is ugly" when perhaps I am thinking that, because it would hurt somebodies feelings and it is not necessary to do so, but I am notoriously out spoken if the "greater good" will be affected by not speaking up ;D. I, however, never lie and say something looks beautiful just to make somebody feel good.

@RedKetchup the production rates for the Milky cows might be a bit much.
i reduced 33% the milk and reduced from 200 to 120 the beef.
@RedKetchup is that the latest version or did you tweak it again?
thats the 3.01 version
120 beef meat instead of 200 per head slaughtered.
16 milks in the milk bucket per spawn instead of 24 (=33% reduction)
Is there maybe a chance to adapt the Mod in that way, that there is the possibility to decided whether you like to produce Milk and a little bit of Beef or a pure Beef production? I mean that you can choose between Milk and Beef production?
And maybe add somekind of a Butcher for the Beef production to get the Beef out of the Cattle? ::)
