I found a few old posts that mentioned this but none that answered it. I collect flax fine, and use it to make linen. I wanted more so I bought the Flax seeds. When I plant them, it makes "Cultured Flax". My tailor will not use it. In my menu I found a Weaver and built that but it does not use it either. Is there a way to turn "Cultured Flax" into Linen? If not, for what is it good? Thanks!

tanypredator New Flora mod had cultured flax to plant seed in crop field, mod also has gatherer for wild flax and a linen weaver.

yes flax can be very mod specific. there is several types, wild,cultured.flax. some tailors will process it into linen and then clothing. others will skip 1 step. it can be confusing. almost have to use the same tailors from the mod that brought the typeof flax. you may even find you have more than 1 flax seed as well.
The Cultured Flax I am using, was confusing because it skips the tailor and makes it directly into clothing. It would make more sense to me to become linen, which the tailor then needs to make into clothing. Also now I have too many hides because I don't need them, I produce enough cultured flax, and not enough cotton or flax.
Tany, now I understand what you mean it's OP in the early game, because it skips the tailoring step!
I really enjoy the wild flax, is there any way to encourage more of it? I tried killing everything around it, but that didn't seem to work, just made it nervous. Does it spawn from itself? or from thatch? or from trees? I can't find the "trowel" tool to transplant it to where I want it to spread.
Tandy's NF wild flax spawns from trees like the roots and mushrooms do. Tany NF does not have cotton. You have no control where flax grows but the more buildings you build the less open space for it to sprout. The cultured flax grows in crop field from seed, when you have what you need simple grow something else in field. A vanilla or many other tailors will use your leather to make hide coats, some of Kid's mods use the wild flax. :) Hide coats and linen clothes from flax are the same quality of clothing.
I also like flax a lot.

To produce flax more like the wild one there is the flax farm from DS Industry Mining in The North. Beautifull :)

And about clothing, DS Oil Mill has a nice production chain, making warm clothes from linseed oil and leather if I remember well.

the flax patch helps bridge some flax and make them more universal. depending on mods used, you may still have others as well.
OOh that patch of flax sounds like the solution to my problem! But it's 404 at that download location :(
Where can I get the fax platch (and is it missing from that download because it's not compatible with 107 or some other problem with it?)
