I am asking on behalf of my RL daughter, Amethystdream, She is looking for some kind of fantasy terrain, colored trees, etc. Is there already a mod like that, or maybe someone could have fun with something?
Yep, see I saw Kid's and abandoned fairy tale buildings and wanted to do a run with it, but I thought it would be cool if the land around was also Fairy Tale/magical too, disney-esque? Something along that line. Now if there already is something like that, point it out, I haven't looked super deep into the mods yet, so forgive if has already been done.
Hello!
I currently have some open projects for new visual and terrain mods; trees and animals are already in the works. The only mod I've published so far is called 'Necrolex - Dream Trees' (quite a presumptuous name, I know, haha!), but I have some terrains that I haven't finalized or packed yet, as I'm a bit of a perfectionist and always find it hard to decide if they're ready or if they still need more work.
What kind of terrain is she looking for? Different colored grass, for example?

Hi.
All I have is an experiment I made for my 'space' mod.
Not much variation, sadly.
Sorry for the late reply, Necrolex, I did look at your trees earlier, and that is kinda what I'm looking for. Only thing I'd want different is instead of the red tones, I'm looking for cool, blue and purple tones.
Kid, those trees look really good, more variations would've been nice, but I could use those, if you are willing to share the file.
Okay. The game can only take one tree definition file at a time.
So it is either my trees or someone else's.
Enjoy.
I edited the colors on the trees.
Is this something more like it?
Hello!
I've noted your suggestions for the trees, but what about the grass and the rest of the terrain? What colors would you like to see there?
To give you some ideas, here are three common "styles" that work well for fantasy terrains:
The "Starry Night" Style: Grass in shades of navy blue or deep purple (this makes the trees visually 'pop' and glow).
The "Pastel/Disney" Style: Light turquoise or even baby pink grass (very common in fairy tale themes).
The "Mystic Realist" Style: A highly saturated moss-green grass, but with colorful moss textures scattered throughout.
Let me know what you think!
Oh wow, you are fast! Yes that is, I hope it wasn't too much trouble!
As for the grass, yeah I was thinking more on the pastel style, with the turquoise grass. Overall going for the "storybook-esque" look so yeah lighter colors, pastels.
Hi there!
I'm working on a fantasy/fairy-tale terrain mod. It's very late here and I'm heading to bed now, but I'll be back as soon as I have some more free time. The concept is based on pastel turquoise grass, with the ground varying between peach and pastel pink. To finish the mod, I still need to work on the CropField, Orchard, and StorageYard textures.
The mod is still a work in progress, so if there's anything you'd like to see changed, just let me know! I'd be happy to adjust things.
Just a fun fact: for a long time, I've wanted to make a terrain mod that looks like a watercolor painting. Unfortunately, the rest of the game—like buildings, animals, and plants—would still look 'normal', which is why I haven't done it yet.
Stupid me. I forgot the file.
I have tested making the trees less saturated, but they turned up
a bit dull and gray-ish. I didn't like that.
Hi Amethystdream!
I sent you a private message with a link to the Beta version of the fantasy terrain Mod for you to test and give me some feedback.
Here is how the mod looks so far. I've made the riverbanks look like they're 'glowing,' just like the mountains. All original terrains now have different tones, and the stone and dirt roads also got new shades to match the changes.
An image of what the trees look like would be nice :)
Hello everyone!
I have another Beta version of the Fantasy Terrain Mod ready for all of you to test.
I noticed that the first version, although following the cool tones requested, ended up a bit more 'pastel' than expected. For this new version, I've increased the color saturation to make the terrain stand out more, while still keeping that fantasy atmosphere.
Please let me know what you all think of this version! I'm looking forward to your feedback so we can perfect it as much as possible.
One thing I'm still not quite satisfied with is the stone road. Even though it looks nice, I feel it's not standing out enough against the new terrain colors yet.
I hope you all enjoy it!
I've found a solution for the stone road!
I'll be replacing the turquoise gaps with purple soil tones to improve the contrast.
I'm taking a break now for my father's birthday party, but I'll be back soon with updates!
