Legends tell of the Avis Aurum, the Golden Bird.
Few believed in them until we arrived here and saw their feathers shimmering in the morning sun. It is said that entire villages thrived just by raising a flock of them.
This mod adds a new animal that provides a unique type of meat, leather, and a large quantity of eggs.
About the Mod
This is a simple addition inspired by a famous game franchise I've always loved. I wanted to bring a touch of that fantasy world into Banished without overcomplicating things.
The Avis Aurum is a livestock version for your pastures. You can obtain them by trading with the Livestock Trader at your Trading Post. It is basically a "premium" and LARGE version of the common chicken. It looks different, lives a bit longer, and is great if you want to focus your economy on egg production and plenty of meat when harvested. Speaking of meat, it provides a unique red meat, similar to ostrich.
This isn't a game-changing mod, just a fun tribute for players who enjoy a touch of fantasy in their settlements.
I also have a wild version (free-roaming) in the works, but I'm still making small adjustments to ensure the resources provided are slightly different from the domestic ones.
A note on sound:
I'd love to hear your thoughts on the sounds this animal makes, as every player might react differently to it. Should I increase the intervals between sounds, or is the current frequency okay?
