Map #678689605 was Another Try.

I had high hopes for this map and came very close to reaching 300 citizens.  I liked this map the best of the 3, there was good hunting, fishing, and gathering close to the starting town center.  To the east was a lot of stone and wood, with room for a quarry and cemetery. Hunting was good in that valley, in the one even farther to the northeast, and in the one in the circular valley reached by a short stone tunnel.  The large lake for the long bridge was a good distance from the town center this time.

The town center area had mountains for 2 mines, and to the south was another large valley for forestry, hunting, and gathering.  I later had iron and coal mines with the blacksmiths making steel tools.

By year 27 all was going well, the mountain men were healthy and happy, and the golden gate bridge was built, the population was 123 and there was plenty of tools, coats, herbs, food, and firewood. I thought my stockpile of food this time would be enough to support 300 citizens.

By year 39 the population was up to 253 but all the supply totals were down but holding steady.  After a few more years, the population reached 270 but there were no logs, firewood, or food.

Reloads and retries did not get me any closer to achieving the goal of 300 citizens, but I would still give this mountain map Another Try.

If I use the exact font used in the One Ring, it will be impossible, as the font 'bleeds' too much upwards and downwards. Even then, I'd have to repeat the phrase around the ring instead of just once, because there's an invisible wall (clipping) that cuts off anything exceeding a certain limit inside and outside the circle. Those ornate, decorative parts will be lost in that cut. I've already tried with a very cool rune pattern using different margins, and the result was always an ugly, jagged cut.

I set everything up correctly with the phrase 'Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul', but the result is always ugly.

YR  30 to 40

the miners built our 3rd school. a Doc office, undertaker and a cemetary were built nearby. 2 ore mines were dug. a DS hearth and worker yard begin to make building materials for the trade docks.  several small markets keep the bannies supplied,

The Nordics added more pastures  and farm gardens. they have an infirmary ,sauna ,and another school. the far west village planted orchards. the village north of the start point ploughed more fields and ordered seeds. across the main river to the far north is a double forest.

finally we can begin to build some of the momuments in the next decade, hopefully we dig enough stone to complete several.
at the same time,
