River's Huts 1.1 (for The North)

This is a standalone mod which has been a requested by River based on the huts i've made for a future expansion of RKEC: Evolution.

This mod contains model versions of different huts mainly made of thatch.

This mod contains:

6 different colors/models of huts housing for 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 citizens.
A Gatherer Hut.
An Herbalist Hut.
An Hunter Hut.
A Fishing Hut.
A Big Barn Hut.
A School Hut.
An Healing Huts.
A Townhall Hut.
A Woodcutter Hut.
A Blacksmith Hut.
A Tailor Hut.
A Mine Hut renewable in 5 levels.
A Fodder-Thatch Farm Hut.

Everything in 3 different colors of thatch.

@RedKetchup  I have done a little testing with this mod and have a few comments. I had a few crashes when clicking on the town hall while it was being built, no crash if I waited for it to be built.  I had only a few other mods enabled, none with a town hall. I moved it up farther in the load order and last test it did not crash while being built or after. Hopefully problem solved.

 The thatch even with fodder farm is a problem, the building requirements are rather high, first test, first year bannies froze because not one house was finished before winter.  I solved problem by using one of Kid Wildlife starts with grass, but I think it would be a good idea to have a tent house added to build at the start, a tent like the fodder farm's but a bit bigger, with no thatch required to build.

The spear fishing is really impressive, very nice.



 I like the looks of the woodcutter very much, nice that it can have more than one worker.  There is no forester to cut or plant trees though, would be nice if there were a matching forester in the mod.  :)

A small storage shed might also be nice.

i dont think it is really about having other townhall mods or not, i think it is maybe more a limits/flags issue

i know a lot of those , a large of part of it, is decided within the townhall files (there is 2 files), and if it doesnt correspond of what is has being decided elsewhere , in other files, it can lead to crash... but you said about before it was built ? thats very strange.

This is strange becaused till it is build, this is not the townhall UI the game give you, but the building process UI which is exactly the same one as all other building, everything in fact. i ll take a look , and try to see there is something odd in the code.

then having the huts mod higher was a good thing.

i need to check really what was my requirement to build the fodder farm , thats possible it is too high ... let me check....

12 logs and 24 building units ?

do want me to cut by 50% lets say 6 logs 12 building units ?
what you think that should be suitable ?


yeah :( i didnt made a forester one cause River didnt requested it .. and I .... i just simply forgot, it is my bad.

so if i have to make an update for changing the cost of fodder farm .... i really need to add a forester type one.

I want to thank you to take interest in this mod, one of my mods... what else you can tell me about the other building ? i am very interested of your opinion.

the building process refer to the original file of the game

which should not in fault.

and the the mats to build it , i only changed the material and number of those asked by Luke to the thatch-fodder ( i took out the stone and iron and replaced by thatch)
do you remember which mod you did skip in the order of you mod list ? maybe the problem is inside one of those

First reply regarding crash.

The few mods I had enabled have been used many time with no problem so it must be combing with the huts, maybe the Wildlife start with grass or New Flora.  :-\  I've used them dozens of times.

I seem to recall a town hall problem players had years ago, I think it was something to do with flags.

I was checking each hut in progress to see if they were getting the thatch delivered to them, some I had paused. There was no problem with any of them until I got to the town hall.  I placed it, then clicked, then crashed.  Tried again, and crashed, let the town hall get built, clicked and no crash.
I moved the mod up above the other mod and no crash before or after it was built.  I will test again.

Reply 2 regarding fodder farm.

Fodder farm is good but takes time to work. Good with 3 workers, they must clear the land and plant, thatch must grow, then they harvest some before a hut can be built.  Winter came and bannies froze before 1 hut got built without another source of thatch.  Fodder farm works well planting and gathering once area is established.

I thought having a tent added to the mod would give bannies a temporary place to live until huts were built.  A tent like one of the two fodder farm tents but a bit bigger, with no thatch needed to build it.  I would be a slow start until thatch was established but they wouldn't freeze to death.

I like that the woodcutter has option to make firewood from logs or thatch, very nice.  A matching forester to cut and plant trees would be good to have, plus a tent.  :)

Mr Red, I think those wonders you are making are very impressive, I have downloaded a few.  I am glad brad3 is showing them off in a blogg.  I am thinking I might be able to work a few into a small map at some point, I'm not much of a city builder but that Machu Picchu would go nicely with these huts  :) Maybe even the Hanging Garden. Some of those new Colorful Little Houses might match the Hanging Garden, I was happy to see Colorful Little Houses was version 2 and would not replace version 1 which is a favorite.  :)  Thank you  :)
