Started 6th Wonder :)

I added some trees for a finished look
We ended up to choose Date trees since they are from north african / western asia.
The Library are kinda built by greeks but in North Egypt. I had to choose something from the area ^^

I started to paint the model with textures...

They don't know exactly the old Library was made of, the strongest theory it was made from local Ashan granite. there are many of colors of those granite, i chose 2 textures

i made a lot of fences, they are extremly long to do ...

this is how it will look so far.

don't worry about the black lines we can see, it is just a graphic artefact from 3dsmax

finished for the moment 1 of the 2 textures i am planing to put

made all the fences, all the pillars and their bases , and all the roof decorations
i will maybe do more of this texture... but at the end, after the other texture. will see what fits the best

probably will do the other texture after a nap, starting to be tired, exausted. i am doing some errors in my moves :S
i made the biggest part , all those faces, polygons , i had to precisely apply the texture

So since couple of days i was applying textures...

At begining i did chose 2 kind of gray granites, one being a bit more 'pinkish' but in 3dsmax, i wasnt really see a difference lol

So i replaced the "pinkish" texture by a more prononced pink one... Then the grey one really didnt fit anymore at all LOL. I hated it anyways, i was so not satisfied already when i was applying it and try to map it on the pieces..

I just decided to totally replace it with a stone wall texture. but now i need to revisite all the pieces cause i need to rotate the texture on half of the pieces (stone blocks wrongly turned 90 degres and it is just failed ^^) and the other half , or the stone blocks are too small or to big and i need to put them all proportionally to each other.

So i still have a lot to do LOL but you can get a preview

Wow, I'm loving how this is turning out!

The Library looks majestic, and the choice of the stone wall texture seems to have been the right call.
I'm so happy to see the Library of Alexandria coming to life!

i finished all the last details, made my building process and exported into .FBX

Desc.: The Library of Alexandria was a legendary center of learning in ancient Egypt, part of the Mouseion research complex, housing vast scrolls and attracting scholars, but its destruction over centuries by fire (including Caesar's in 48 BCE), neglect, and riots led to the loss of immense knowledge

Comment: The Library of Alexandria model is hypothetic because it was destroyed since very log time, centuries. I designed the model by using a screenshot I did from a picture i saw on the internet and adapted it for the Banished game. Although it is a library, in Banished, it is acting as a school. This is my 6th Wonder.



Role: School.
Dimensions: 17 x 17 tiles.
Building cost: 600 work units, 32 logs, 340 stones.
Feature: Education.
Nb teachers: 4 teachers.
Nb Citizens: 400 students.

It's so beautiful to see something like this being made with such dedication. The stone scroll detail on the roof is a touch of genius—it makes the building look unique and perfectly themed.

ya, that was the vocation of this legendary wonder, it was the keeper of thousands of scrolls

it was mt 6th, the 4th lately because i still count the White House as one and the Majestic Cathedral was my first.
