;D Lot of nice people here! (Think I stay)

@RedKetchup - I'm working on textures. Have you noticed any improvement
in-game if you use high resolution pics?
I took several screenshots with different texture resolutions and compared,
not much change! Yes, if I go low it is visible, but higher up it doesn't matter?

DesoPL

Kid do you got any plans for remake some models? Kinda blacksmith might diffrent? This is only my opinion though.

kid1293

Different how?

It's just a workplace not a house.
Or do you mean what he produce?

 ???

I'm not offended, but you don't like it?
Do you want a real house or so?

I have to use larger sometimes, here is a complete texture to
a small rowhouse. I have it 512x512 and you can barely see
the windows, but it looks rather good in-game.

Great work all around! I'm using your mods alongside CC, NMT (shout-out to RedKetchup too!) and other assorted mods, and the building variety and the sense of progression are becoming quite awesome.

So, if you perchance need ideas for a new project, I was looking at pictures of Visby for some inspiration and it occurred to me that there's no buildings with crow-stepped gables in the game so far. Those kind of stone houses could work well with the same footprint as your middle row houses and might stylewise bridge the gap between the half-timbered houses and the more modern looking townhouses of CC. Oh, and another thing I'd love to see is a simple wooden (or stone/plaster) freestanding house with a gambrel roof, maybe resembling the Dutch colonial style.

Anyway, just a couple of thoughts! I hope you keep on creating!

kid1293

Hello zerokelvin and welcome!

Crow-stepped roof are nice but I guess I don't want a large project,
at least for a while. That could easily be a too big project with
business bottom floor and all.

Gambrel roof? (I had to look it up) OK, You have some sort of gambrel roof
on my forest mod buildings and they are wood houses.

Other than that I really wish to see Visby. I live on the other side of Sweden.

zerokelvin

Thanks!

Sure, a whole set of buildings in a new style would be a large undertaking.

Oh that's true, the forest houses do have a kind of gambrel-style roof, hipped though, so is it technically a mansard then? I'm no architectural expert either. But what I had in mind was similar in size to the base game wooden houses, with one and a half or two floors. The game could still use some more rustic-looking wooden buildings IMO.

Too bad I'm no modeler myself aside from some rough mockups in SketchUp. I am an illustrator of sorts though, so i might be able to whip up some concept art if there's ever need for that kind of thing.

And yeah, I was thinking the same thing, Visby would be interesting to visit. I'm fascinated by everything medieval. And I'm from Finland, so it's not that far away from here either.

DesoPL

This is only my opinion, but i feel blacksmith is kinda small if we look to other buildings.

kid1293

@DesoPL - I will look into a new blacksmith, no promises.  ;)

You have always pushed me further on with the rowhouses and
even if I can be old and grumpy, I thank you for your support!

Hi Kid, I think the texture could be a bit sharper and the plaster looks like jpeg with low quality. I would use basically png instead jpg. And sharpen can bring something. Just try this. The result would be interested.

kid1293

Tom - I use PNG in my models, it's to upload small files I use JPG.
I have a little bit sharper textures with PNG. I don't want it too sharp,
it might be a sore thumb when looking at it in-game.

DesoPL

I glad to help. :)

Btw. Try use maybe RedKetchup Blacksmith as reference or something? Yep NMT i mean.
